Both private and group have their pros and cons. However, I do agree that it all depends on 'luck' and 'timing'.
Any school with small group recommendation? or private tutor for low income family?
Estimated cost for External MO June Holiday on NMOS topics:
1) Asia Math - 3 days x 3hrs/ class x4 = SGD1500 (SGD375 X4)
2) Themathclassroom - 4 days x 2hrs = SGD2000 (SGD500/week)
Hope someone can help our lower tier children who may be a little 'gifted' but could not afford to follow the culture of OM.
You may visit my Forum page or iworksingapore.wordpress.com for more details on the program, my students achievement, as well as my profile.
Thanks.

I have the same issue. Son was selected by school to participate RIPMWC, SASMO, NMOS with 10 training x 100 mins/class (missed 2 classes). He always smiled at me after competition. As explained by him, because he's not even sure if he have done it correctly (no solution given to them during training- no notes to bring home)
Your son is in Primary 4 or Primary 5? GEP?samantha_wong\" post_id=\"1903011\" time=\"1552833633\" user_id=\"124040:
Hi,
My son will appear in NMOS in Jul 2019. I planned to arrange a tutor for him during the June holidays. Now the school has arranged for group lessons $60 for 6 lessons. I wonder how good these lessons will be as this is the first time the school is doing this.
All kiasu parents who are experienced - is it better to go for school supported group training or seek self arrangements? I can do both but do not want to wear the kid out.
Thanks,
Samantha
How long is each lesson? 2 hours? How many topics to cover?
These are what you need to consider.

RIPMWC - achieved 48% (his buddy 95%)
SASMO - waiting for result
NMOS - upcoming July
Prior to P5, we did not know that he is good in Math (no private tuition class except Piano). After hearing his 'smiley' explanation, I registered 2 (free) open category competition for testing. We do not want to flood him with tuition if he's not gifted (critical P5 to prepare for PSLE).
WMI - didn't make it, only 2 participates for grade 5 won Gold and Silver
HKMO (Hua Xia) - got Silver and invited to participate Final on 22 May
My question here, to enroll him for crash class (group is better and cheap?) to revise 10 topics or engage a private tutor to guide him on 'unsure' question? Cost is definitely a factor as our intention is to 'help' and not 'push' him. Last and not least, hope not to see his 'smile' for next competition :imanangel:
Thank you in advance. -

Hi,
I stay in Mountbatten and am looking for a PT helper who can come to my house n in law house which is few blocks away. I will need her to come to my house weekly on weekdays for 4 hours. (8am to 12pm preferably).

2) Vacuum and Mopping of Floor
3) Ironing and folding a week's clothes
4) Wiping Windows/Glass (When it needs cleaning)
5) wipe and keep place neat n tidy.
6) Ad-hoc cleaning duties when required
I stay in a 5 room hdb flat, never cook at home.
I need her to come to in law house once every 2 weeks for 4 hours on weekdays, timing flexible. List of duties similar to above except no need ironing and folding clothes. They stay in 4 rm hdb flat.
Please PM if you have any recommendation. Thanks!
Hi there,
if you are still interested in engaging a part time helper, do consider us, The Cleaning Authority.
Fee Structure
$16/HOUR (4 Hours & above)
$17/HOUR(3 Hours)
*Additional $1/Hour on Weekends
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO AGENCY FEE/ HIDDEN COST
Do contact 9627 9165 for more information
Just tried his service. My personal opinion as follows:
1) non local cleaner .Ie. Myramma
2) too young .Ie. 22yo pettie lady
3) unhygienic & inexperience
-Use same cloth on glass & toilet
-use tissue with glass clearner to clean glass
-Used Rainbow E2 bed nozzle on floor after vaccum bed mattress (claimed she know how to use)
4) scare of my little chihuahua (agent did not asked if my house is pet free)
In conclusion, too expensive for above service @$17/hr weekend x4hrs (experience china cleaner charges almost same). Thought will get local for this rate as per post. -

I knew a boy whom didn't do well in PSLE but become scholar in neighbourhood sec. From Norm Tech to norm acedamic then promoted to express class with straight As in O level. Currently studying law. They do hold supplementary classes for students who are found weaker in certain subjects in P4 and I think P3 also. P5 all have supplementary classes...
I know of someone who had a learning disability and he went through PSLE, in the end placed in Normal Academic in another Sec school... -
