Sysy:
Hi, would appreciate if you could PM me the centre. thankssharonk:
Dear parents. I am writing in response to the PM which I have received recently. Many of you have Pmed me regarding a post I have posted many many months ago and many of you have been asking me if my dd is still studying there.
My dds have been with the centre since two years ago. One of them who is in P6 last year did pretty well to enable her to get into IP programme in CHIJ. Thus, without any hesitation I continued with the centre for Ms Estelle helped me to push my dd up from a mere 50 plus 60 to scoring A* in PSLE.
My personal view on the centre which I have recommended would be that it is a centre suitable for parents who are looking for really delicate teachers instead of a famous centre. So far, parents there have been discussing while waiting for our dd and what I have heard are all good feedbacks. This is why, I have no hesitation recommending the centre to you as. As a parents, I truly know how \"messed up\" the current education system is and with the new stellar unit it is literally impossible for us to guide our children as they only get back their file a week before exams and I know it is frustrating as I have been through it.
I have also received Pmed telling me that the location of the centre is not accessible and that the slots are full. I hope to gain your understanding that I sent my dd there for the sake of her education. I do not drive and I have been walking from the AMK Hub to the centre for years now but I guess to individual parents it is different. As for the slot being full, I have been told since I started that they talk in maximum of only 8 students. Thus, i apologized to those whom trusted me but was disappointed by the slots issues.
I believe there are good teachers in every centre. Thus, as parents we should look at not the centre but the teachers.

My girl is in P1 this year. I’ve check the school bus fare with friends who have children taking school bus & within 1km. For my case, I feel it is not drastically overcharging for my distance.
We are paying high each month. However, we are only paying for 9 months instead of 12 months compare to some other bus operator. You might want to take note that no payment for Jun, Nov & Dec as stated in their terms & conditions when we signed up for the school bus service. -
HI moms out there with gals in OLGC,would like to have more insight of the school fr yr experience..
I heard fr my fren the school PSG is almost none existence and that bcos the parents are not allowed on sch premise,no parents seems to know each other or get together to discuss on homeworks or coming test etc??? Is it true?
My son is P2 in CHS,i actively volunteers for his class, from weekly Literacy reading to them or helping out during CNY class party etc,i built a good relationship/friendship with teachers n most importantly parents..We call or apps each other if our boys lost spelling list or to double check on homework..or even complain/moan about coming chinese test
However i heard my fren's P1 gal dont have that kind of support and worse her chinese has mental issues and taking medication
cindycsm
No kidding, this P1 mom had a disagreement with this young Chinese teacher which she(teacher) blew conversation out of proportion thus accused mom ot being difficult when all the mom wanted was to clarify...she slam phone on the mom.when the angry mom met school HOD of Chinese department to address this unacceptable behaviour...they asked her to not pursue matter as the Chinese teacher has mental issue and addressing it with medication..i was shock by their \"sweep under carpet\" practise but disturb by school having a teacher whim I will be concern if she was to be a primary school teacher:-(
OMG! :scared:
My DD going P1 next year. -

3chips, I'm with youHee! Miffymiffy, u sound like a fun mum! Is it becoz u don hve to sit down and help your princess with her homework? Even with the little homework that my little dear has, I hve to arrange a time for her and sit with her to do it.
So I'd rather she has less so I don have to do 'homework' too! I guess I must sound very terrible amongst the many very hardworking parents here!

Hi, I'm new here.
My girl has just been balloted in for OLGC. The next in line to settle for my dd is the after school student care. Would like to check if there is any nearby around the school, preferred within Serangoon Garden, if possible.
Thank in advance.
Called them they are really not cheap, almost equivalent to what I'm paying for childcare now (after subsidy) & student care has no subsidy.
May I ask parents of OLGC, is your child in student care? If yes, may I know which centre are they at? Do you have any comments on the centre. Thank you so much. -

When a child wants to be a SC, 1 parent must convert to SC. That's what I know from my colleague who have done so.ski:
They may be PRC but their child could be SC. so they still get the SC benefits during balloting. it's the child's nationality that matters not the parents.
unlikely the child could be SC without the parents becoming SC. there is no basis for the child to qualify as SC -
RE: [Seng Kang] Primary Schools
