Hi helplessmum3, sorry I am not very convenience to type too long msg…

Yes, my son has same problem when he was 3-4, even doesnt want to speak single word. He has no eye contact at all even his father was stepping in when coming back from work. Example, his father called him, "hello boy, papa is coming back" but he just continue to play, totally ignore or he never has any reaction… sorry, if I write wrong. Anything he wants, he just use his finger to point but no talk until about 4+. He likes to stare at the spinning objects especially fan and car wheel, he could keep looking at the spining wheel for more than 30mins and he keep turning the wheel (toy car)repeat and repeat, he ignore what happen to his surrounding. There were lot of things make me upset during these years, I hope I have time to share all about my son story with you all… maybe I can ask my hb to help me write in English. Give me a week, I will be here again.

Hi Double E and Nugget and all,

After reading your post, I feel how ‘lucky’ am I. Pardon me, my English is not good. I am Chinese educated in Malaysia but I am PR living here for more than 20 years. After I read all of your post, I think it is a chance to share with you all about my ASD son’s story. I will try my best to write in English, else, sorry I will use Chinese. I hope my experience will encourage you all, please don’t give up your ASD child.

My son was diagnosed as ASD at 28 yr old. He is 9 yr old now. His symptoms was all similar with normal ASD kid, like Double E’s son. I had tried many many way to help and teach him in past 7 years. Of course, like all of the ASD kid’s mother, sorry, I think better I use Chinese as it would be more clearer.

Your child will be better one day, and that is not a dream to get into mainstream primary school. My son is in P4 this year, he is doing well day after day, year after year, he could even get no. 10 in level position with total 230 students. I am ‘proud’ of him and I appreciate everything in this journey even it was bad. Please don’t give up, do and do more to help your child as he/she is so SPECIAL.
      加油!
