Hi, totally agree that with a maid at home, alot of things are just \"push\" to them - even like playing with my boy **GUILTY**
Guess going to be without one now, i need to think of ways to play with my son, the activities to be planned out for him, and of course (to me) the worrying part is the eating. Dont really like eating outside, and am afraid Tiffin delivery is too salty etc, so i still decide to attempt to cook maybe 2-3 times a week.
Actually i like the fact that i dont have a maid, due to the privacy so i am biting the bullet and give it a shot to go without one for this year. Next year will be much better since my boy will go for those 3 hour school - that gives me a bit of time to myself.
Jia You everyone!!!

RE: All About Life Without Maids
yah, i also agree that germs are good, but not for such a young age. And when it happened, we feel sad that they need to eat medicine at such a tender age. Thats the reason why we decide that i should stay home just for this 2 years. Once he is ready to go school, i can go back to work.
But i truly admire those FTWM - really have the energy to take care of the kids plus cooking and doing household chores. I dont think i am up to it because even now staying at home, i feel so tired everyday. haha...weak woman! -

Hi Mamemo and Shoe, can i know what type of boxes you all use to freeze? Original Tupperware or LocknLock?
But can i assume that the veg wash and cut in the morning - but i put it back in the fridge after i finshed, but only cook in late afternoon - should still be fresh right? -

Hi FTWM of 2,
Understand how you feel. Personal opinion is that i agree with both yr mum and hubby that you should consider getting another maid. Any reason why you want to take Indonesian maid? Reason is that i think your mum would be a better caregiver than the infant care. And with both in infant care, your work is going to be affected if any one of them gets sick and the chances are pretty high. On the other hand, honestly, without a maid, your mum may not be able to take it with all the running of the little one, and next time, the feeding of the newborn. Plus with a maid, she can help out both household chores which might help to relieve your burden especially you need some time to bond with your kids over the weekend or in the night.
When i first gave birth to my son, i actually got a maid to help my mum (as she doesnt want me to put him at Infant care). But i got myself a Filipino maid instead reason because i dont want to go through the stage of \"teaching\" the maid, and if there is a need to feed medicine, it will be easier to speak english to her (coz my parents doesnt know english). My maid is not the best maid, breaking things and forget to change baby diapers etc, but i guess i didnt really have much choice and i dont want to go through the hassle of changing maid. Then the bomb came where my mum decides its too tiring for her to take care of baby , so hubby refuse to put the baby at home with maid, and so landed i took the maid and baby and move back to our own house. But matters worsen as my maid became even more lazy, more demanding asking for phone etc, so now here i am, a SAHM, looking after my son till he is old enough to go to school. -
RE: All About Life Without Maids
Hi mummies,
my maid is going off next week, so here i am - taking up the challenge to take care of my 2 year old boy (not going to sch yet), juggling housework and working part time. So need some advice from mummies who cook (i havent cook for the past 5 years!!!) :
1. If i were to wash and cut the veg early in the morning say 6am, and put it in a tupperware, into the frige, can this help to contain the freshness of the veg?
2. If i were to cut meat in the morning and store it in the fridge, will this be ok?
3. Freezing of soup - i heard we can freeze soup - but do i only freeze it when its cool down and put it in the freezer ? How long can i freeze - one week?
If any mummies have any advice or simple receipes to share, it will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance! -

I also just bought the happycall pan and now looking for a thermal pot. Actually i am a very bad cook so was pretty thankful my maid knows how to cook. So now, trying to learn how to cook with the happycall pan as it has so much good reviews about it. Thanks, will take alook at the Tiger brand.
You work both in the day and night? Wow! What does your boy do when you work? My boy sticks to me and i dont have time to do my work unless he is sleeping. Then again, when he sleeps, i need to prepare dinner. Really headache! -
RE: All About Life Without Maids
Hi SMH Forest, that's absolutely true. I think its going to be tiring for me as i work part time from home, and still need to cook and play with him, but i believe in time management and like what you mentioned - not bat an eyelid with the \"dust\" and \"mess\" in the house.
More like i think i will nag at hubby more and make him do more things, though i must say its also pretty tiring to work with the stress of the boss. Let's see how it goes. Definitely i am going to give myself a break on the \"black faces\" given to me by my maid.
Btw, how do you arrange dinner? -

Hi all, I am looking for a Magic thermal pot - Is Zojirushi or Tiger a better brand?
Anyone can let me know if there is a any shop that sells cheaper Brandt Condenser dryer?
Thought these are the 2 necessities once the maid leaves. Is considering letting her to leave before contract expires.
Many thanks
