do you think your salary has increase by so much? so that it can 'fight' the increase in prices???

example, inflation rate is 10% semi-yearly, do you think your salary has increase by 10%? if your salary increase by only 5%, do you think you got a decrease or increase in pay?

sorry ah, moi ingrish not powderful, so I dunno how to describe. maybe someone can express better...hee...

I am not exactly sure, but I always suspect those \"official\" inflation rates published can be misleading. For example inflation rate is expressed by per quarter, so, does that mean that if the price index in this quarter compared to the last quarter had increased by 5%, and if you extrapolate for the full year, using simple multiplication (not even compounding), inflation for the full year will be 20%? If this is so, then, it explains why a loaf of gardenia bread shows a 1.85 - 1.25 or 48% simple increase from 2009. Our income gets an annual increment, so, it can never catch up. Maybe an economist out there can help to enlighten me. Thanks in advance? :?

reminds me of ride bicycle in those kampong days ...

i missed the past in 1970s.... take public bus costs 5 cents per ticket. The ticket bus inspector board the bus, bellowed in a loud voice 'Ticket please!', then punch one hole in the middle of the ticket.

Reveals your era lah... Ha ha... Just kidding! 😆 :rotflmao:

My opinion is that tuition centres run by full time ex-teachers are better than francised ones. This is because the former will give their 100% since they own the centres, while tutors hired by francised centres might just give their 50%. Besides, francised centres usually experience a high turn-over rate for tutors as compared to those run by the tutors themselves.

      Hi,

I would have agreed to this statement completely until I had a very bad experience with one Centre's owner/principal who practically talked down to me like I am an 8 year old kid/her student, while her teachers are a million times more polite and helful than her. Seems to me that because the owners have been their own bosses and maybe their businesses have been around for a while, they got so used to talking down to everyone!

Hi councillor, thanks! Actually, I am confused in my thoughts. On one hand, I have an ex-colleague, whose daughter is a top student and he didn’t even let her go for the Gep test as he thinks that gep will deprive his kid of a balanced childhood. On the other hand, I also agree with u that such program would further stretch the kid. So, I am not sure myself…

    • RE: Pre-N, Kindergarden - Religious must be the same?

Most Christian kindies would accept kids from different religious background. I think religion is a very personal and sensitive matter and it’s really up to individuals. It’s really what one is comfortable with.

Hi all, my gal is also in p2 now. Heard from many parents that p1 and 2 are honeymoon years and from p3 onwards, it will be significantly different. Find it stressful… Btw, anyone care to share their views on gifted program?
