For history, yes. Book 1 & 2 on Singapore will be pretty much covered in Sec 1. Looking at DS’s text, it seems that Sec 2 will cover European and American history.

It’s good that they are exposed to world history in lower Sec, be it to trigger their interest for advanced learning in upper Sec, or just general knowledge if they choose not to advance history in upper Sec.

May I ask is the history subject will be tested at the end of the year or in the mid year?
When come to sec 2, is the content of sec 1 for the all subjects ( science, history and Geo) will be retested again?

Sorry my child is not doing 3rd lang hence I can't help. Tuition - there are kids with tuition; others without. My son has Maths tuition, and nothing else. The teachers really avail themselves for the kids.

3rd language decisions have to be made now...you may wanna 'chope' a place first. Can drop later.

No tuition for mine... in fact no time to even go tuition. If based on your boy's score, I think he will cope well if he pays attention in class and does his work consistently. Be proactive in asking for help from teachers, they are always ready to help! (That's the impression I get from my boy)


3rd language - if u don't take up the offer now you won't be able to join the program again later. I would say join only if your boy is interested to even try. Else it's a waste of money n time. A large majority drop out by 6 months and the end of the first year.

May I ask did you send for son for tuition? I really can’t help him in his study. May I know how about 3rd language? Do I need to make the decision now? What are the cons if he did not take the third language?

I have a son that tell me wanted to join Hwa Chong next year. I am worried whether he can cope with it or not. I don’t think I can help him in his study.
He scores 261 + 2 in his PSLE. Hope someone can enlighten me on this. Actually, I prefer RV as I think it might be less stressful.
