Where is the part in bold from? SEAB previously had some parts of the above on their FAQ for PSLE. I am wondering if it is current or left over from the t-score days? It was never clear to me if A* was 91 firm, no negotiation or if it may move up/down depending on the subject and exactly how everyone scored. Regardless, under t-score the PSLE subject grades were just for \"show,\" as the t-score aggregative (and bonus points) was all that mattered for secondary admission.
Thks both for the replies, may I know what is this \"grading will take into consideration various factors\" means since there is no moderation. Please enlighten. Thks in advance.Cool21\" post_id=\"2040514\" time=\"1633269993\" user_id=\"194742:
Hi all, refer to below statement, does it means that although the raw marks is 88 but because of paper difficulty, they may moderate the grade to AL1?
\"Going forward, PSLE raw scores will not be adjusted according to a bell curve. However, grading will take into consideration various factors, such as paper difficulty and the quality of candidates’ work, so as to maintain standards across years. (The Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board has not stated how this will be done.)\"
I agree with the others; under AL it is the raw mark with no adjustment irrespective of how the cohort does (as far as I know). Just think about the other way if the paper was supposedly \"easy.\" Imagine the complaints if 92s suddenly become AL2 in a given year (granted you don't get the papers back so you would never truly know).
Please find below link for the above in bold:

If 88 is your raw marks achieved for last Friday PSLE Maths, then you will get AL 2. -
