Kinowing iSparks is for GEP and high calibre mainstream, may I check how are the rest of students allocated to the 3 consortiums? I do not think it is solely random? Is it by languages proficiency? DSA? Maths/ Science Proficiency? Heard all DSA are allocated to ProEd?

Not sure but ProEd seems to be for DSA sports.

HCI's explanation is that other than iSparks, the other 3 consortiums are randomly distributed. Our observation as parents is that it seemed to be random such that one year, there may be more DSA sports students in Aphelion, and the following year, there may be more of such in Ortus, etc. There is no ranking of consortiums in HCI. Each consortium has its own resources but all the students will sit for the same mid year and year end exams.
Hi All

It is not true that the DSA sports goes to Pro-Ed consortium only. My son and his 3 other friends are also in DSA sports but they are in Alphelion. In fact both of them are in the same class.

So I think it is random. Or maybe results based too ?

      Hope it helps.

      Hi,

I’ve arranged for my son to take the school bus to HCI in the morning from the west (clementi/west coast area).

Unfortunately, there are only 3 students currently taking the school bus, and the school bus needs a min. of 5 students to carry on the service. The cost is $110 per student (1-way).

If any parents would like to have their son take the school bus from the west area, you may contact Mdm Lin at nine-four-three-eight-0482. Thanks.

      Hi rdreamer,
my boy is also one of the 3 boys on the bus. hopefullly we can hear from other parents too. Cheers !

Hi, can i check, have several qns rgding DSA (read the MOE faq several times but need to clarify on the CRITERIA):

      – how early should we (parents) prep in view of DSA? Cos it will determine which CCA to choose, assuming we are "using" a particular CCA, eg scouts. Does it mean we’d need to prep/have something in mind before P3??
      – How do parents know the updated criteria each yr for DHS? (it’s not seen on their web)
      – To apply via "uniform grp", eg Scouts, what achievements must the kid have by P6?

      thanks.

      Hi my_melody92

For my both kids, we started their CCA (external academy) in late P4

      HI All

For DSA CO. once you received your posting on PSLE results day, is there a need to report to school in Dec for registration?

Reason for asking as we will be away during the christmas period.

Thanks very much in advance !

The students will be given a package (file) which includes the Book List, details about the Sec 1 Orientation, as well as other information such as Sec 1 Parents Symposium, Giro app, bursary, collect vehicle decal, etc. That day will also be the day where parents can buy uniform and school books etc. Also there will be certain rooms open for enquiries into special / elective programmes (Art, Music, 3rd Language) etc.

      Thanks Catmoon.

Do you happen to know what was the date last year ? Hopefully it is not on 23 dec 🙂

Unfortunately, it should be around that date. MOE will announce after that the PSLE results.

Thanks CatMoon. MOE website says 21 Dec (tentative). Hope it is either 21 dec or earlier. Cheers !
