RE: GEP - General Syllabus Discussion
Was told if school registered the child’s name differently (which happens to a friend’s son), then it will not be able to capture under same TAP ID. Else, all subjects taken are shown on the same ID.

RE: MP echoes calls for PSLE to be scrapped
Also, have longer hours in school, make good use of single session. Spend more time in school to develop sports, life skill, pursue music and arts etc. Kids will no longer have time to go tuition! Parents need not worry that their kids are wasting time in front of the TV / computer if not sent to tuition classes.

RE: MP echoes calls for PSLE to be scrapped
I absolutely agree with Ikid!
1 standard exam for all students from P4 to P6 or even before and after. Only then, can all schools keep up their standard. Scrapping national exam only blinds one to how know well his/her child has learned! Scrapping national exam also blinds the MOE on how well the teachers have performed!
The parent would only end up getting the kid to do all other external bodies exam to get the many cert! Wasting even more resources and stressing the kids further!
MOE, Don’t change for the worst! Put in national examinations throughout the school years. -

RE: GEP - General Syllabus Discussion
Information is good and especially factual information. How information is used is in your hands. As parents, we have to understand what motivates our child and of course, every individual is different. We aim not to use the information to demotivate or punish! The aim is to provide the necessary support so they will not be demotivated in the journey and to motivate them to have the confidence and believe in themselves.

RE: Q&A - P4 Science
Verysuperkiasu:
A is occupying approx. 10cm3 of volume based on the picture drawn. So it appears to be true that C occupies the most volumeNebbermind:
But what if u consider the vol of water to be at least 30cm3 in the 1st flask?
but how do you get 30cm3 for the vol of water in the first flask? -
RE: Raising COE [Was : COE above $80,0000]
CoE + ERP. One other component to b added can be pay per mileage driven . Keep CoE as a fixed amt. Those who buy nice car n only displaying for neighbors n friends to see but do not drive, does not cause congestion. So they pay a tax for owning a car. Those who use the road will pay accordingly. ERP is to regulate peak hours n especially congested roads ( but all said about congested roads, some roads or (a part of the road )are so badly designed that users are the one paying the price!). Tracking mileage already exist in the car, so no additional cost for govt! Like utility usage lor. If govt wants to increase tariff, all users pay And not only some car owners who is buying their 1st car or changing a car to meet family needs etc at a time when govt decides that there are too many cars or someone has made an error in projection!

RE: GEP - General Syllabus Discussion
So happy to know that there are many FTWM, reaching home only at 8 pm and DS/DD not going for enrichment classes. I really hope my DD can learn independently and manages her time well. Life skill! :rahrah:

RE: Raising COE [Was : COE above $80,0000]
When you openly talk about an increase, being KS, you will be bidding even higher than the next expected amount! Who gains?
For the rich, they change cars all the time and they just pass on the high COE cost to the next car owner lor!
