Not sure whether the school will divulge no. of citizens and PRs, though.
I doubt the school will divulge such details to the public. But i guess the no. of PRs are not alot so it won't really make a big difference. Nevertheless, it is still a good move from the MOE.

Am still feeling the heat as both DH and I have made up our mind to register DS in RMPS this yr under phase 2C. :xedfingers:

Hooray!!! It was a super great news for all of us who are true blue Singaporeans!!!

But would also like to know if there is a significant no. of PRs applying? And are they still qualified for registration under Phase 2B?

      Hi Crystal Poh

I didn't know last year that the school bus would take so long when I was choosing between ZDPS and RMPS. So I'm really glad that I chose ZD. DS is very happy going to school and coping well. Of course I can't confirm if ZD is indeed better than RDM but I think the time saved is certainly worth it. Anyway I always believed that the academic success depends not just on the school but mainly the child and parental support.

No matter which is your final choice at least you have the benefit of information. And that is the intent of my sharing. My only advice is to consider carefully.
I do agree with you. My friend whom is an AED told me that all schools are relatively the same. It very much has to also depend on the teacher who is teaching them. But as ks parents, we usually would want to give the best to our children.

Just to share my own experience, I'm within 1km of Zhangde and Radin Mas and I registered in phase 2B last year. I decided to go for Zhangde as it is within walking distance. After school started, I found to my horror that DS's kindergarten classmates, living next block, are spending 1 hour each way to take the school bus to Radin Mas. That's 2 hours a day 😓 . DS is very thankful that he is not studying in Radin Mas. Do consider carefully as all the time spent travelling can add up significantly over the years.

      :thankyou:

      Hi Mummy of 2,

Thanks for the great feedback. I am staying within 1km of both ZDPS and RMPS. And if I were to register my DS in RMPS will definitely let him take school bus. But hearing from you is sure a turn off to put him in RMPS now.
How's your DS coping in P1 in ZDPS? Kinda getting very worried now. :?:

      RMPS - Extremely Tough

      ZDPS - Extremely Relax
      Your tough meaning academic?

My friend's DS is in RMPS, P1 now and she told me that there isnt any homework. All work are done in class therefore, her DS does not need to bring work back to do. I thought this is very good. At least we get to sent quality time with our children.

Eh somehow feel that RMPS is not so balance, Kellock well balance or new balance. Went Kellock open house, the \"feel\" is so different. :rahrah:

Phase 2C for this year would be 30 Jul, 31 Jul & 1 Aug. 😓
      Hi Titank,

I also thinking of registering my DS in either RMPS or ZDPS. Can you explain why is RMPS not balance? But both will be under 2C within 1km

you can try your MP and your MP will probably write a letter to MOE and the outcome will still be no.

how is MOE going to allocate another school to parents’ whose primary schools are closed? if they allocate new or not popular schools, these parents will not be happy. if they allocate popular schools, other parents will cry fouls ! So MOE would just stick to the defined rules.[/quote]

What you say is right too… Haiz… in that case i will just pray and hope that he can go into RMPS under 2C
