Can anyone tell me what other methods of cooking veggie apart from stir-fry? My kids are bored with stir fried veggie although I use different veggie/ingredients each time.

Some vegs can be steamed, boiled, chopped into fillings, baked, mashed.

Some really can only be stir fry.

      Eat them raw πŸ˜„
      Use as wraps
      pickled like kimchi or achar
Braised as in like Nonya Chap Chye or Mustard
Root vege are good for roasting
Or in soups like baby spinach in ikan bilis soup or watercress
Cauliflower, broccoli can be blanched and baked with cheese and bacon bits
:goodpost:

    • RE: Lunch

The daughter off today and the son came back early after exam.

So lunch is comfort food for them:

Roasted Chicken drumsticks - only seasoned with salt and pepper

Mashed potato - only add butter and milk

Canned mushroom soup - this is the 'sinful' one πŸ˜‚

For the fish soup, I actually fried the fish bones first before adding in hot boiling water. Suppose to bring out the milkiness of the soup - Cantonese style …I think

For cashew chicken, I used the following recipes but skip the first step.

      http://rasamalaysia.com/chinese-food-recipe-cashew-chicken/

For sweet and sour fish slices, I used the red snapper .

Usually I used 2 or 3 fish bones (it was from the snapper) as I bought the whole fish . Actually the bones distintegrated as I put to simmer for too long ..need to strain out the bones and be careful while drinking.

Can add vinegar or other spices too.

I prefer sweet and sour fish slices πŸ™‚

Anyway last nite's dinner was a simple fare.

Fish soup using fish bones as stock with celery, potato, yellow onion, ginger... did not add any salt or soy sauce at all... still tastes good.

Cashew chicken - this piece of chicken meat is too fatty for my liking.

Freshly blended water-melon juice. (need to finish up that water melon quick and juicing is the quickest way ) :imcool:
