Yes U3 can be used till Diploma level. Its precisely because many Singaporeans don't have space and budget for grand pianos hence they chose the uprights.
Thanks for your kind advice. I don't have space and budge for a grand piano.ctan3101\" post_id=\"2013423\" time=\"1611799400\" user_id=\"12344:
For pianists aiming for Grade 8 and beyond, if possible, use a top range upright (131cm) or a grand piano.
Examples of top range uprights: Yamaha YUS series, Yamaha UX series, Kawai US series.
However, the examples above are expensive even for second-hand ones which cost at least $5700. Many pianists that I know settled for the Yamaha U3 which costs around $4800.
Either way, It's great if you can afford a grand piano too!
Can U3 be used till Diploma level?
It's certainly nice to play and practice on a grand, however its not necessary to have one to achieve a diploma level. I know some have accomplished the same, practising on much worse pianos due to budget constraints.
hi,
Thanks for your advice. -

hi,
My son just passed grade 5 and I am thinking of changing his piano. What model is good for beyond grade 8, preferably can last till Diploma because I don't wish to change again. -

RE: Bukit Panjang Primary
hi,
My child has graduated from BPPS this year and I am clearing away 6 brand new subject plastic files and 2 used plastic files in pristine condition. I am also giving away 4 chinese writing pads (less than half used). All items are printed with BPPS logo therefore I cannot keep for secondary school. Please let me know if anyone is interested. I am staying around Bt Panjang Plaza around so I would prefer to meet up nearby. All items are FOC. You may pm me. Thanks. -

I roughly remembered is about $117
Thanks for the information.
For anyone with kids in the school currently, is the way the classes are being conducted really more interesting? -

There is no special requirement for Maths and Science in order to qualify for CRT ad GAT. Anyone can pay to take these tests. SST will then shortlist those students who do well in their CRT and GAT for a second round of selection.
Thanks. How much is the costs to pay for the tests? -
RE: School of Science and Technology
Hi all,
I would like to know if the child has to have very good results in maths and science in order to qualify for GAT and CRT tests?
My son will be in P6 next year and he has very strong interest in science but weaker in maths. I am just wondering what will be his chances of getting selected for the phase 1 tests.
Any advice is much appreciated.
