RE: Creative O
snow:
My boy had finally graduated fr Creative O. He is now a confident individual in P1.
When he is in K2, we decided that there is a need to start him with Chinese and English enrichment classes. Creative don't emphasis on academic. But we have no regrets. Reason being you can never find enrichment classes on creativity and building leadership skills for kids.
Hi Snow,
Congrats to your boy!!!
Btw, u decided to send enrichment for Chinese and English based on his Creative-O teachers' recommendation or based on ur own observation? How abt Math? My girls are in Creative-O this yr. And, I'm especially concern for my K2 who'll be in P1 next year.
And, in terms of foundation for the English and Math, were they well covered and prepared the child for p1?
Hope to hear from you

RE: 2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take
Hi Mummies,
I’ll be registering for my DD1 next year (2011) too - feeling very anxious already. Need advise regarding pri schools with affiliations vs. pri schools w/out affiliations. Does it really reduces the ‘stress’ in our children when PSLE comes?
Cos, my daughter will be under Phase 2A2 for Henry Park. However, location is really a prob for us - we’re staying in Jurong West. -

Haha, teacher turnover was low but now it's high but don't worry they are not transferred out, they are all transferred to Jurong East branches lolz

So when they transfer cck teachers to je branch, they'll hire new teachers for that branch? that's quite unfair to children from that centre right? hmmm... cck branch = training ctr? -
RE: Creative O
Hi there,
I’m also intending to send my girls to creative O next year.
Any latest reviews from parents?
And, feedbacks from Parents whose children were from Creative-O and have entered to Primary School, are also appreciated. Can they adapt well, etc…?
Thanks! -
RE: Mulberry Learning Centre
keas:
Yes, you're right that new centres are always good. Due to the small no. of children hence, attention from teachers are better - I noticed that quality of teaching drops when student-teacher ratio becomes bigger. My son is at CCK branch. Overall it's not so bad, it's just not same as the beginning when the branch just opened.
So now I'm a bit weary of new branch and will only let my child join after a period of time, even though that may mean wait list. But I feel better to know the center is well established and can maintain the standards. New branch is always good.
Good luck!
So, your son still in CCK? Btw, how's the teacher turnover in Mulberry? do u notice a lot changes while ur son is there? -
RE: Little Skool House
hi all,
Any comments on LSH at Safra Jurong? My daughters had just been accepted to their school. How’s their curriculum? I was told that they are not worksheets driven. But, will that cause culture shock to our children when they go into P1?
Pls advise.
THANKS! -

No worriesHi dadelina,
Thanks for sharing. Actually my son's teacher also asked me whether I want to consider transferring him to Acer. I guessed new center gets more attention and investment than the old ones.
So did you put your child in Mulberry?
And, they did mention that this centre was also to accommodate their students at JE. Cos, they've mentioned that their JE ctr quite full.
I'm juz so impressed by the principal - patient to go through the details and 'entertain' all my queries... and overall the centre gave me good 'feeling'. I've definitely shortlisted them and very high chance of enrolling my daughter in their ctr.
Care to share ur experience with their ctr at JE? -
RE: Mulberry Learning Centre
Hi,
Juz wanna share my visit to Mulberry @ Acer…
Overall the centre is very nice and bright. Very colourful too.
Spoke to the Principal and she was friendly and well-informed on the curriculum and even showed a summary of the lesson plans with corresponding worksheets.
They have a variety of enrichment classes (all incl. in the fees) namely:-
Theatrical Play aka Speech and Drama
Multimedia
Dance i.e. Street Dance, Jazz - changes every term
Science Alive
Creative Art
Two from the above are from external vendors who are practioners in their respective field of teaching.
The centre also visits the library once a month - optional $5 extra if opt in
What I like personally like abt the centre is that they have project works integrated in their curriculum where children are the decision makers with guidance from the teacher as well. Hence, lots of outdoor activity so as to collate data or info to support the subject of discussion. I feel that this project approach really taps on the children thinking skills and CREATIVITY!!! And, encourages them in thinking out of the box. -
NewMom Reporting! Hello ALL :D
Hi,
I'm a mother of three beautiful young ladies - ages 5, 4 and 1.5years.
I'm 'kiasu' abt creative learning and it juz disheartens me that it'll be soo limited when my girls go to Primary.
Hence, finding a good student care is really important cos, I find that the existing pool of student care centres is so academically driven and creativity is left to linger on its own
How how how??
Anyway, nice to have finally joined this forum and hope it'll enlightened me and some way or another
Cheers!
