Hi, what’s the spread of the sec 1 classes like (i.e. how many express, how many NA & NT)? In addition, what about upper secondary - is there, for e.g. an arts class? Thanks

RE: DSA 2020 - NUSH
Was informed by IJ Toa Payoh that my kid has received a place. I think other parents would also have heard from the school.

Great question. would also like to know. Just curious. I reckon it's between 40 and 50.
Hi, does anyone have an idea on the number of shortlisted applicants for SOTA visual arts this year? I'm referring to shortlisted applicants to the Talent Academy.
Thank you!

RE: Singapore Young Writers Press
Does anyone know anything about the Singapore Young Writers Press?
My son was recently asked by his English teacher at Tao Nan School to submit a story to them for their quarterly 4S Writing Contest. The only problem is that I can find next to nothing about the \"Singapore Young Writers Press\" online and I find that very suspicious indeed.
When I tried to find out more about this competition and the organisation behind it from their website (https://singaporeyoungwriterspress.com), I found nothing but vague statements like \"we are a social enterprise” and \"we organize national and district competitions, workshops and events\". There is no mention of who this mysterious 'we' refers to! Even their publications do not make it clear who runs the organisation or who their judges are. I find the strange lack of information more than a little questionable.
Can anyone give me more information about who manages the Singapore Young Writers Press and its publications? According to their own website, they supposedly run writing 'masterclasses' that have received a few positive testimonials, so there must be some parents out there who have sent their kids to them for writing lessons.
I'd be most grateful if anyone can chime in here.
:thankyou: -
RE: DSA - Ballet
Just a question to any parent whose kid has enrolled in Secondary school via DSA specialisation in ballet:
Did your kid need to have the actual RAD Grade 5 ballet exam certificate before the start of the application process? Or did you just need proof that your child sat for the exam?
The reason why I’m asking is because my daughter’s ballet school takes the April RAD exam and the girls don’t get their actual certificates till October or November of the same year.
My daughter is due to take her Grade 5 exam next April (i.e. in 2018) but if she doesn’t get her certificate till November, how can she apply for her school of choice via the DSA route?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help answer this question! -
RE: CHIJ (Katong) Primary
Dear EHIH,
My perception of CHIJ Katong is that there is seems to be a sense of balance of work and play. The fact that we are catholic also made choosing the school easier. -

RE: CHIJ Family of Schools
Thanks, qms. That’s an informative link. These statistics give a lot of heads-up on our chances. It’s amazing that some schools still have a good number of vacant slots after Phase 2C!
