Hi I am new to this forum. and I am a parent of a dyslexic child. my child reading and spelling is very poor and his maths is also failing. I am quite desperate. has anyone got a good qualified dyslexic tutor to recommend? thanks in advance

      Hi lilipekkw

I was passing through this thread and chanced upon your appeal for a dyslexic tutor. I moved to singapore with my husband and child from the States a few years ago for work. My child was already diagnosed with dyslexia and had difficulties with numeracy and reading - I think he has dyscalculia too. Anyway when I arrived here a new colleague introduced me to this tutor therapist . He has abut 10 years experience in teaching special needs kids both in mainstream and special schools. Well we gave him a trial and found him acceptable. after a few months my child has improved significantly and is now coping in school although he still needs help. This tutor is good and breaking problems down and explaining words and problems in steps clearly and he makes my child feel relaxed and motivated.
he also writes special worksheets catered to my child's needs
ok to cut the story short, if you want to try this tutor email me at [email protected]
but please be patient as I travel quite a bit. I cant promise your child will experience similar success under him but I think he's worth a try
Good luck to all the kaisu mummies here and keep the flag flying for all your special kids
