    • RE: Living Sanctuary Kindergarten

My boy is in Pre-Nursery this year. To answer your queries :

      Any bible study/teaching?
      - No, but they do sing worship songs every morning

      Religious practice
      - not really, but sometimes they do say prayers during the assembly time.

      Communication book method
      - no, they don’t practice, but after each semester, the teachers will provide an assessment report on your child’s progress
      - you can call the school to talk to the teachers after their lessons
      - I usually speak to the teacher when I drop my boy to school
      - they will conduct house visit

Overall, I’m pleased with my boy’s progress in LSK. He will be in N1 next year.

    • RE: Living Santuary Kindergarten vs Bethany Kindergarten

My boy is in pre-nursery this year. LSK teachers are caring & loving, lots of hugs & kisses from them.

LSK adopts Learn thru Play, while PAP is more academic based. They can convert the classrooms to a supermarket/airport etc. which I find it very interesting. LSK also organises events like outings, sports day, graduation concerts etc. The teachers and principal also do house visits.

My son enjoys going to school, and even asked me to bring him to school on weekends. No complaints on this school so far.

My boy is in LSK, what would you like to know? Have you enrolled your girl? LSK should be full by now.

    • RE: Which preschool would you choose?

Nativity is only 10mins drive away, but there is no direct bus from my house, need to change 2 buses. School bus is the last option. School bus is expensive and I think we need to pay even during the school holidays. I’ve not been to Nativity, is it good? I know St Anne is super hot in Seng Kang and not easy to get a place.

I have explored most of the Kindy in Seng Kang. Appletree is out, St Anne doesn’t have N1, Nativity - need to take bus (no direct bus). There are many CC in Seng Kang, but few N1 classes (3hours daily programs).

I’m in Seng Kang. Plenty of choices for full day childcare or N2, but for N1 not much choices for me.

      Thanks all for your replies.

School 2 is a good choice if not for the distance. I checked on the school bus, the price is $90 for 1 way, $110 for 2 ways. But my boy will be the 1st to board the bus and last to drop. Which means a 20mins ride will become an hour ride. Another option would be, I drop my boy to school before I go to work and have my maid take public transport to fetch him back from school.

My boy is with school 1 since he was 18 mths only, now he is 30mths old. This school is alright, except for the limited facilities. This school is in a mall, the children can use the public toilet, but from my observation, the teachers don’t use the public toilet as it’s difficult to bring so many of them there. There is 1 chinese teacher, 1 English teacher in the school and they currently only have N1 & N2 classes.

Most people advised me to go for school 2. But I can still in dilemma, I have up till end of this month to decide.

      School 2
      - need to take bus (abt 20mins)
