Japanese has 3 writing systems, there is indeed alot to pick up for a beginner, the sentence structure also differs from the English language.
Gotta say it really helps if you are good in chinese. I did japanese for a few years formally after being exposed to the language at a previous job.

I think the testimonials are largely not needed. One, as mentioned there is no place to upload them on the DSA portal. Two, one school even mentioned (last year) that you don't need and they will reach out to the relevant teacher, coach, etc if they have questions. Seems like they realized 12,000+ students asking for testimonials was just an additional burden on primary teachers/coaches.

Could a testimonial be helpful for a certain kid in a certain domain? Probably. If obtained and sent, will it even be read by the shortlisting committee? Not sure...

Planning to apply for leadership and media Club, I was thinking the testimony of the Cca teacher in charge will be helpful, as he will be able to highlight his proficiency in that particular domain. And he is also made Cca leader by this particular teacher in charge while holding another leadership position.

Won't ask for other teachers' testimonials because I believe it's abit strange if they don't know the child well, besides they did mention all other information and records will be obtained via the portal.

Understand that eagles, echa award etc the cert does not come in the mail initially.

Thank you. snail mail. It says \"Certificate of learning achievement\" and comes with form for applying for bursary if income < 6.9k. So wondering how it differs from the \"top 25%\" cert.
