I have 2 boys. One just graduated from Edgefield last year, the younger one will be registering for P1 this year.


My hubby’s colleague said that Punggol View is good and hence my hubby is considering of putting our youngest son there.

Question for parents whose DS or DD are studying there…
In what way is Punggol View better?

During the orientation during P1 6yrs ago, my DS was given an assessment and was assigned to a class (one of the top two class of his cohart) according to his capability. He studied HCL from P1-P3, where he dropped HCL at P4 as he was extremely weak in MT. The students within his class was split into respective MT classes based on their strength in MT.
Apart fr academic, Edgefield also put emphasis on heuristic aspects such as performing arts (keyboard / dances).
I was able to communicate with all his form teachers since P1 via both SMS and emails.
For example, his P3/4 form teacher even called me and chatted with me regarding his concern on my DS’s handwriting and other matters for 30mins. He had a chat with DS over the cause of his behavior and gave him a hot wheel car to encourage him and for him to overcome his emotion over an incident (which happened in P2) which I didn’t think would leave any impact.
[DS wanted a racing car set that cost almost $200].
I felt that this teacher as well as other teachers are very committed.
My son managed to scored 2A & 2A*.

I would appreciate if someone can share with me his/her experience with Punggol View Primary. So that it can help me to make up my mind to register my younger son in Edgefield or Punggol View.

We like TK. My son's score meet the min. COP and is appealing to the sch. No news so far...

All the best to your dd's appeal to TKSS. It's a good school despite the fact the it is not as popular as other schools in that vicinity. Btw, may I know what's the COP this year ?

On the reporting day, I asked and was told that the COP is 231 this year.

Initially, I submitted 6 choices.
1st choice is 3 points above T-score, but offer Express stream only.
6th choice is nearby neighborhood school where COP is at least 10 points below T-score. But it offers very interesting programmes, and will be producing its first batch of O Level (result will be out coming Mar2015).

On the next and last day, I amended the submitted choices, and removed 2nd-5th choice. Either we get into our dream school, or just go the neighborhood school.

One day before releasing the result, I was still telling my hubby that the chances of getting into 1st choice is very low. 10% or even just 1 % chance only.

My jaws dropped next morning when I received the SMS at 6.24am that DS got into our 1st choice!!

Hence, thou it may look like impossible, one should try as we may never know when \"miracle\" happens. Like it did for us.

As per the school booklet which was provided during the registration day (22-Dec), 7.20 AM start on all days except Wed. On Wed 8.20 AM.

Thanks. I found out on the reporting day.
Before that, I was wondering about it as I need to consider the time needed for travelling. It takes us at least an hour to travel from Punggol to TKSS, as we timed ourselves on 22nd Dec.

My DS is in Group 3 instead.

Anyone else in Group 3?

Actually I prefer to drop at Dakota MRT station, and take 16 or 33 (2 stops only).
Side gate is closed. Hence it is nearer via nearer this way.

No. She gotten the posting result today. Furthermore not her 1st few choice.

DS posted to 1st choice - school name start with T.

I only received the notification for my DS last night at around 7.30pm for 26th Jul's camp. Maybe some of you still have chance? :xedfingers:
