Dear parents,

I need advice from all of you as my parents have no experience on choosing secondary school and they have not given me much advice. Until now I still have no idea of which school I should choose. I have a PSLE T-score of 243. My dream school is Nan Hua High School. However, I still have no idea on filling up the rest of the choices. Can parents here advice what other school I should choose other than Nan Hua?
Is it ok if I choose ACSI as my second choice? (I know ACSI is 248 but I also know that I could
appeal to my first and second choice if I am being posted to my third choice). I intend to put Fuhua Secondary School as my 3rd choice which is quite safe to go in with my T-score. Can parents please advice any other school I could choose? Thank you.

Does not make sense to put ACS(I) after Nan Hua as likely ACS(I) COP would be higher.

Do u also want to consider SJI (242) and Commonwealth (237) before you put Fuhua (234) ?

Suggest that you drop ACS(I) and include a school with COP <= 233.
Dear Kangkangteo,
Sorry, do you mean a school with COP <= 243?

Go for it:

Dear Diamond123, from the schools you have chosen, I assume you are staying in the west? Have you looked at Clementi Town?

Anyway, whichever school you choose, please consider the distance from your house. From my sons' experience, you may need to stay quite late in school sometimes, and staying near the school makes it easier and not so tiring for you.

The COP is ACSI and Nan Hua are quite high. If you study there, you may just be at the middle or even bottom of the cohort. Try to choose some schools that your TScore will allow you to be near the top of the cohort.

i don't think I mind being last (with a T-score of 250) in the FIRST class rather than first (@ T-score of 200) in the LAST class.

All schools are good. My sons graduated from Kent Ridge, which took in COP 188 at that time, with very low O Level results. It depends on the effort you put into your studies.

My personal experiences tell me that SCHOOLS (basically the TEACHERS) do make a difference. So go for Nan Hua where possible.

Dear Kangkangteo,
Thank you for your encouragement. I wish to go to Nan Hua, really hope that their cut off point will not rise this year. Initially I was a bit worried of my T-Score too near too their cut off point, but now I have the courage to go for it. Thank you once again for your advice.

Dear Go for it,
Yes, you are right, i am staying in the West. I have not looked at Clementi Town as I have missed their open house too, I will look at it later, maybe to rank after Fuhua? as Fuhua is nearer if compare to Clementi Town. Thanks.

Dear emoh,
Thanks for your advice. SJI will be too far for me and for Commonwealth, I missed their open house. After the release of result, I have just been to Fuhua and Huayi open house only. So I don't know how to compare my preference between Fuhua and Commonwealth. Would Commonwealth better than Fuhua?

Lisa Wong:
Could anyone please post the full question on the fertiliser that was thrown into the river and fishes died. Follow by those graph on nutrient and bacteria etc? My boy only explained to me briefly. He asleep now. Thanks!

The question is about a diagram of a river and river flow. Then, a farm was placed at part 'G'. After G, fertilisers were washed into the river. Fishes were spotted dead. The question asked which graph will be possible.

For the nutrients: Before 'G', nutrients was high. At G onwards, amt of nutrients went down before going up again.
For the bacteria: Before G, none. After G, amt of bacteria increase and decreased.

I roughly could remember something like this.
