    • RE: 2018 P1 registration exercise for 2019 intake

My daughter is a Singapore PR who will be joining P1 in the year 2019.

We live in Novena and I am currently working on shortlisting a few schools for her so I know which schools to focus on when the time comes. I stay within 1Km of ACS and SJI. And within 1-2Km from Singapore Chinese girls primary and St Margaret’s primary school.

From the Balloting history what I can read is that none of these schools have vacancies for me as a PR. Even St Margaret’s primary seems like a really slim chance right?

I bought the place in Novena so we ideally don’t want to move.

What are the schools I should be targeting for my daughter?
If I volunteered for St Margaret’s primary do I stand a chance?

    • RE: [Novena] Primary Schools

Thanks for sharing the names and links of the other schools I could look at.

I realised both of them are girls only schools.

      I am keen on a co-Ed school.
So looks like Balestier Hill Primary is the winner 🙂
      Thanks!

I would love to catch up with an expat parent whose child/children go to Balestier Hill Primary.
Let me know if anyone is keen to meet up over tea or coffee.

      Thanks!!!

Thank you for the replies. They have been really helpful.

I wonder if anyone has done some research on the middle tier local primary schools which do have spaces for S’pore PR. Which schools would be worth applying to where one has atleast a 70 percent chance of getting in as a S’pore PR living outside 2km radius.

So, if I was open to putting my daughter in a local primary school outside of Novena - (outside 2km radius) which schools might be worth looking at?
And are they better than Balestier hill primary school?

    • RE: [Novena] Primary Schools

I am a S’pore PR living in Novena and hence Balestier Hill Primary school is one of the obvious choice for my daughter. My daughter is still young and I do have time in hand before I have to select a Primary school for her. However, I wanted to get feedback from expat parents whose kids are studying in Balestier Hill Primary as to what their experience have been.

I hear that there are children from many different nationalities/countries studying here - Is that true? I would like my daughter to be in a multi-cultural environment.
Are there plenty of extra curricular activities in school - sports, arts, music ? I’m looking for a school which provides a healthy mix between studies and other activities.
I understand Its fairly easy to get admission intros school - is that true? and Why so?
