Thank you everyone for their thoughts. I know kids from St Stephens and agreed the kids are boisterous but they are definitely not aggressive. And yes they have zero tolerance for bullying. I have a very close friend’s son there and it is true. They are just a bit rough. My kids are a boy and a girl and they fight even for the spot they are standing on. The only way they don’t fight is if they are busy in some form of sport.
TKPS though ranks a bit higher than ST Stephens- my ‘personal’ view on school visit was although smart kids - they were kind of table bound (boys were only in to computer games, science projects). We did not see any sports emphasis amongst boys. Girls on the other hand were brilliant in everything at TKPS including sports. Hence so much confusion.
For now if the balloting ratio remains below 1.5 we will go for Tao Nan and then St Stephens with wait list at ACS P and ACS J.

RE: 2019 P1 Registration Exercise for 2020 In-take
Hello,
We are SC- within 1 km of Tao Nan but in phase 2C. This year 2A1 had extra 20 kids on average more than last 3 years. 2C chances look very slim unless a miracle happens.
As per new rules - SC has absolute priority over PR. ACS J or ACS Pri - in phase 2C - what would be the chances? This would be more than 2 km for sure.
We wanted a school with swimming and badminton, our boy has been training at Chinese Swimming Club since he was 4 for both the sports.
Any kind of information/help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you ! -
RE: [Bedok/Katong/Marine Parade/Siglap] Preschools
Any place but do not think about Raffles Montessori- Still Road. My kids are in K2 and N2 and both have been with the school since playgroup.Teachers are absolutely fantastic and then the Franchise owner decides to not renew/ re contract (we do not know the details) and all the teachers collectively decide to leave to a new franchise opening soon. In all of this drama not even once did the owner decided to even speak with the parents what is going to happen after teachers leave ! What is the plan, none of us even know if the school will exist after this month or now. Above that the current teachers and lessee are paying out of their pockets for the rent so that the students can finish this term un- interrupted. All of us are running helter skelter looking for a new place for kids. The new place where teachers are going is too small. Plus faith in teachers is a bit shaky right now, they collectively decided to leave. Not cool for any parent.
You definitely do not want to be in this kind of situation. And btw the Still Road branch has tried to pull this stunt second time now. So buyer beware !!! -
RE: St Stephen's
Hello,
Need some help regarding St Stephen and TKPS. Unable to decide between the two. DS1 swimming and playing badminton already with Chinese Swimming Club. Pre comp in swimming. We put him in sports because both children were fighting too much. Which one would you recommend. I am SC stay at home Mum, I tutor him, so not really worried about academics.
Thank you in advance. -

RE: [Novena] Primary Schools
Hello, We are first timer sending kids to Primary Schools. Our son is really good at sports and his teachers are both brother’s from ACS. He is swimming Pre Comp at Chinese Swimming Club. They want us to try for the school. We are relatively new citizens (9 years old). So was wondering - if any one can guide about what would be the chances of getting in to ACS? We are definitely above 2 km radius !
