NUS High or SJI or RI?
My boy was given a confirmed offer to NUS High for Sec 1 2014. But we are undecided. He is naturally strong in Maths and Science, but does not enjoy them more than he enjoys other Humanities subjects like History and Economics. Could we hear the experiences of parents whose children are in a similar situation? Did you eventually choose NUS High or some other school?
Another question: what is your experience in terms of pastoral care and peer support? For students who may be bright, but a bit ‘nerdy’, those who may find it difficult to fit in socially… or who may have difficulty coping with schoolwork now and then…? What is your experience with peer teasing/ bullying in these schools? Would a co-ed or single-sex environment make a difference in this matter?
We are looking for a school that provide academic rigour but is also strong on pastoral care, and a school culture where the students and teachers are kind. Not overly competitive or mean or bullying
Thanks so much!

RE: NUS High School of Mathematics and Science (Diploma)
Hi
our son will likely begin Y1 in 2014. Wondering if there is PSG in NUS High. Thinking of getting involved. We are returning from overseas. Anyone with similar experiences of resettling their kids back in Singapore? Any tips on good HDB/condo housing near NUS High or CHIJ Bkt Timah? Many thanks. -

Hi
We are returning to Sg and hope to enrol our daughter into P3. Pl share experiences about transitioning into a mainstream school and OLQP school culture. How is the academic and socio-emotional support for kids coming mid-way into the school? How's the PSG? Thinking of getting involved. Thanks!
