You need to state their distances from the schools. Also, any recommendations made by us is only based on the school's popularity and distance. We cannot answer questions such as \"which is a better school\" since that is too subjective.

CHIJ Katong (under 2B church affiliation) within 2km, TKPS (under 2 C) within 1km.
She is also SC but was told and read up that TKPS curriculum seems better compared to CHIJ Katong. Hence the dilemma.

It sounds like you are asking which is a better school. All things being equal, CHIJ Katong would be a better choice it is a guaranteed place for your niece.
Thanks Chief! Wow this thread moves so fast.. i couldn't hardly catch up LOL

Btw, just asking on behalf of my cousin for her daughter.

They are eligible for 2B CHIJ Katong, and 2C for TKPS.
What would you choose given an option?

Registering the child for primary school is start of a battle.

Upon successful application, the battle continues and intensifies.
totally agree.

But I am also leaning towards TKPS to save my agony.
I have heard mixed reviews for TKPS.
Fun, balanced, but the one that worried me is bullies in the sch? hmm šŸ˜ž
That's why needed more ummph to make me more convicted to enrol to the nearest school.

Dear all,

I would like to ask your expertise on this matter.
I am staying within 1km of TKPS, but hoping to get to Taonan, Ngee Ann (these 2 are actually 1.1-1,2km from my home), Kong Hwa which is within 2km.

I have no affiliation to any of these schools but a SC. So I guess I am placed under 2C, correct me if I am wrong?
I am also not familiar with the new rule in place.

What are the chances of getting into those within 2km schools?
I called up MOE and even the schools today. Sadly, they gave me no further insight, and only ask to go refer MOE website for statistics and figure it myself.

Thank you in advance for your comments and input.

• RE: [Marine Parade] Primary Schools

hi.. my neighbor told me that both his sons are in TKPS.

However, the eldest boy was with the old P which was good.
The younger boy is currently with the new P which he thinks it's terrible. And their tuition teacher who has taught many TKPS students for more than 10 years feels the same too.

I am contemplating to put my kiddo there or not šŸ˜ž
