RE: *** READ ME FIRST !!! - P1 Registration FAQ ***
Can someone tell me if this rule is new starting from this year or was it around before?
Extracted from MOE FAQ under Proximity to School
FAQ 4. How long do we need to stay in the address used to register our child during the P1 Registration Exercise?
In a small number of cases, there may be situations where the families are unable to remain at the address for the entire duration of the primary school studies. Even so, a child who gains priority admission into a school through his/her distance category is required to reside at the address used for registration for at least 30 months from the commencement of the P1 Registration Exercise on 2 July 2015. If this condition is not met, MOE reserves the right to transfer the child to another school with vacancies, as the basis for priority admission to the first school was the declared address used for registration. -

RE: St Joseph's Institution Junior
Hello Everyone,
I’m a parent who is looking for a primary school for my son. My boy asked me these questions after I talked to him about primary schools. I am hoping that you could help me with these questions.
a) are the children happy in SJIJ?
b) do they have friends and play together?
Thank you. -

RE: Playgroups - GUG, or those baby gyms or Wee Care?
forgot to add…
you can always go for trial classes and see which kind of classes is best for your kid.
do remember that for the kid to enjoy classes, they have to be "prep-ed" and depending on the kid’s character, they will take time to warm up. my kid about same age as yours and he still needs warming up before every class haha.
GuG at mountbatten is having 50% off trial class til end of Aug if i did not remember wrongly. I went for their open house last sat and might send my kid there once they smooth out the "new-ness" of the place.
regarding JG, I been trying to get a trial class at Forum but not successful so I give up. They also have a new Chiltern House at Mountbatten but it is already full with waiting list. faint looks like no fate between JG n my kid. -
RE: Playgroups - GUG, or those baby gyms or Wee Care?
GuG/JG/etc and gym classes provide different learning experiences for kids. GuG/JG/similiar schools provide more "scholastic" environment like phonetics, exposure to english/mandarin, numbers, speech n drama etc etc. Gym classes concentrates on the physical aspect.
My kid has been attending both "school-like" classes and gym classes. I find he has benefited greatly from both and I intend to let him continue til I find he has out grown the classes. -
