Hi, is Nan Hua or Singapore chinese girl's school better in terms of academic, discipline..etc Please Help!!

Nan Hua is band 2. SCGS should be band 1 right ?
One is SAP school , one is not.
One is coed, one is pure girls school.

Yeah, SCGS is band 1. :thankyou:

what are the advantage of going to a school that has O level and a school that has IP? Is scgs a good school?

If your results are good and very likely will make it at A levels to enter university, O levels is redundant. There is no need to waste two years on O levels. The precious time can be used to develop other skills.

Asking if SCGS is a good school in this forum will get biased replies....SCGS is a very good school!

Thank You! I understand better now.
Hi, I would like to know like if we go to RV with score that is the cut-off point, would there be less concerns towards us and the teachers won't pay as much attention to us?

If I am not wrong, RV don't rank the students from best to worst class. All students placement is as good as random. So the teachers won't know what is your t-score, it is your later performance that counts most.

Justsay's daughter has a t-score of 251 and barely get the last few place in RV. maybe she is the best person to share if the teachers are bias.

Just to share since Weihan mentioned, dd went RV with lowest possible aggregate. I didn't hear her mention in any occasion that she did not receive equal or less attention compared to her peers. In fact she was appointed as welfare chairman in class and assigned with some other duties.
She has been happy thus far. During the meet the parent session, I must :salute: her teacher. She not only can tell us dd's strength and weakness, she can pinpoint dd made what mistake in which particular assignment (the assignment she mentioned was in dd's file at home that time :yikes: ) She spent time telling us how to help dd. DD has good teachers. With the help of her teachers and of course with her own effort, dd ended up from bottom 10% to getting the edusave & GPA award, highest in English in class, top few in History in whole level. Her weakest subject being HMT with a B. She maintained her grades this year.
I must say that school indeed provides equal opportunities and attention to everyone that enters the schools (sounds like I am advertising for the school πŸ˜‰ ).
Quoting from someone in another thread, once you are in secondary school, PSLE is history.
:thankyou: WeiHan and Justsay! I understand now!

Of course no. The students are put at random into Y1 classes. Everybody is given the same work and projects and all students chiong together. πŸ˜„

πŸ˜„ Thanks for the advice! :thankyou:

Hi. I am also considering Nan Chiau vs Nan Hua. Nan Hua is definitely better than Nan Chiau now, as NH has been a SAP school for many years already, and their COP is almost 10 points higher. But NCHS has potential. I attended the open house at NCHS today. From the students and the talks, can really see NH is better - more polished presentation, more confident students that speaks well.

A big consideration for me is also the distance. High chance we will go for NCHS because it is nearer. Another big plus is they will also start the enhanced arts programme.
Thanks for the advice!! Think I will choose Nan Hua because its nearer to my place and it sounds better πŸ˜‚
