    • RE: GEP and Right Brain Training

My boy went to Shichida for 1 yr at 2 yrs old. After tat I decided to do the program myself at home combining GD program . We did it more for fun n bonding purpose. My boy loves the GD math n I have to say it helped a lot in nurturing his love for math. He loves the encyclopedic knowledge program too though was a real tough one to prep. As for Shichida, we continued with the iq m memory training parts which he loved the most. As for whether it help in getting in gep, I think not much relationship …I think such programs r supposed to be run without such intention in order to see the efforts pays off in long run.

IMHO, Road trips and National Parks is one of the best ways to experience USA. I did it with my then 4 & 6 year-old. Took them out from pre-school for a trip in September.

      Cheers.
We did visit and stayed over at Yosemite ....beautiful!

      Hi drickymummy,

Tat's a good tip u gave! Is CA Disneyland fast pass any similar to HK one? HK just scan tix & they give you a time slot to q at their fast pass. We will self drive ard too & am looking forward to their outlet malls, Walmart & more supermarkets! SO much things to buy... heehee

      Hi slmkhoo,
U r so lucky! My hb is hopeless when comes to theme park so I will do up the itinery & plan strategy.

Btw, what is your fav & popular rides I should attack? Anyone try their breakfast with Disney characters? :scratchhead:
Cat_tail, when u gg? I was there last nov during thanksgiving.. Was there during th black Friday sales..but yet didn't shop during that sale much.. We bought most the thursday of thanksgiving cos we were at Vegas then. We did drove to Desert Hills on e way to LA but the place was packed to the brim n no way to buy anything in the cold and packed place with a tired 10 yr old and 7 mth old. Anyway the different was abt 10 % or so from the amt I paid for the day before.
Not sure abt fast pass in HK cos was there many yrs ago.. We did scan the tix at Anaheim and was given a time slot. 3 days also not enough ... We love disneyland. We did not get to try on many of the rides but good enuf.
We love target n toy r us the most. Walmart is not that great ... The products they have r not as good as target. As for outlets, plan to spend at least a day in any of these malls. We went to a total of 3 outlets and yet only cover a few shops in 2 of them. Vegas outlet mall is the smallest among the 3 we went hence managed to Cover more shops.
Not something we will buy on a trip but gnc there is like 1/3-1/4 of prices here! And so are many supplements and medicine like fever med that has grape favor! We brought some back as my doc suggested that I buy some.

Your 'hang in there for 1/2 year more', is it refer to me specifically? If yes, thanks!

      Yup, that's specifically for you.

As a safety net, that affiliation to NYGH looks very attractive indeed. πŸ˜‚

Disneyland gives out fast pass for popular rides at certain timing at certain spots only once or twice a day. U missed it that’s it… Check with the counters in e morning before u go into the parks. Older kids can go in as single riders for some rides to save time …my 10 yrs old went in for some of the rides by himself cos I have to take care of baby and daddy is tired to play anymore. We just wait for him at the exit point aft we see him going in the queue.

We chose the self drive for all out holidays. Flexible that way and can cover more places like the supermarkets, mega stores like toy r us anytime we want as they are everywhere along the ways or near our hotels. I love Any local supermarkets and even my older one enjoys the supermarkets a lot whenever we travel anywhere!

      Hi All,

Wanna revive this thread a little. I'm intending to bring my DD who will be 2yo to the States for a family vacation this Oct. Am thinking to visit LA, then LV. Would like some advise on the places to visit since the little one will only be 2YO in Oct. πŸ™‚

Thanks all in advance for inputs. πŸ™‚
      :thankyou:
I just brought my 10 yr old and my baby who was 7mth old then last dec to LA, LV and SF.

San Francisco - Napa Valley. Drop by at one of the wineries for a nice outdoor picnic style lunch with food from the deli mart at the winery. The habour cruise is great too.

Yosemite national park- along the way from SF to LV. Beautiful Sceneries... We stayed at a big beautiful lodge with indoor heated pool just outside the national park.

LV - cannot remember if 2 yr old can take the helicopter cos my older boy went with hubby for the ride at Grand Canyon n they loved it while I just walked around the viewing points with baby. LV is the usual stuff with the fountain shows n night view along the strip which we only managed to do a drive thru.. No time and too tired from day time activities.. Shd have stayed at least 4 nights. We did only 3 nights ..

LA- only enjoyed Disneyland the most. We loved disneyland! rides r just right for my 10 yr old to go as single rider for most and most rides allowed baby to go on them.. they have the best nursery room too! buy the 3 day pass and dun stay too far cos parking not worth it, we stayed at hotel opp the park. Most impt is the photo pass which is the most worth it thing which we discovered late only on last day there! unlike all amusement parks which sells u the photos taken by their photographers pcs by pcs. disneyland gives u a photopass which u can take as many pics thruout your stay there and purchase all soft copies in a cd for only usd 65! we bought the pass that covers Seaworld at san diego which we did not go at all and universal studio which was terribly boring Even for my 10 yr old. The place was soooo quiet unlike USS. Only good thing is no queues for ride like transformer 3d and many other rides lor. Downtown nothing much for adults and worst still for 2 yrs old except the take the pic at the boulevard lor.

If can include San Diego which my friend did for Legoland and sea world. We did not have enough time otherwise would have done that. Shd be more fun than wasting time at downtown LA and downtown San Francisco too with a young child.

Wish we can make a trip back there again soon....
