    • RE: In-law problems?

      slmkhoo:
I believe that in-law relationships have phases too. In the initial years of marriage, I feel it's best that the young couple live apart and get used to each other and to independence. When the parents are old and may need more care, it is then appropriate for them to live together if necessary. The relationship will be different by then as the parents will the ones who need more help, and should have got used to the idea that their \"kids\" are no longer young and ignorant!

      Fully agreed.

Congrats to all parents and students with confirmation offer!

For those in the waiting list, fret not, generally the chance is high. Those that I known/heard in the waiting list last year were also selected into SOTA.

DD welcomes all year 1 in 2018!!

      :congrats:

All the best to the parents and students going for TA.

I recall it was a unique experience for us last year, what with portfolio prep, DD attending TA per se and coming home rattling about what she did. Then thinking in my heart if she would be able to make it or if we have failed in our attempt. Then prepping her mentally in case she fell through.

And on the day when parents started posting they have received phone calls on good news and we were still waiting. And the skip-a-heartbeat feeling when I saw an unfamiliar number on my HP, and then finally confirming the good news.

Not trying to stress out anyone here. Just sharing that it is a one-of-a-kind journey in life that we get to share with our DC. So take a deep breath and enjoy the view.

      Jiayou and good luck. :rahrah:
I didnot even receive any call from SOTA till my friend lead me to get the \"answer\" via SOTA portal! I could not believe the statement \"confirrmed offer\" and had to make phone calls to SOTA admin to help interpret...received the offical letter one week later. And yes, it was a very different experience and journey with DD from preparing the portfolio to audition to confirmation....

Do check with SOTA admin if you are in doubt. They are able to advise you.

Wish all the best of luck!!
      😄

    • RE: GEP 2016 - Screening & Selection

DS received his letter today (Was surprised as we never think much about it). He mentioned there are 3 in his class being selected for the 2nd round. Are the 1st round papers marked / assessed by the respective school teachers or from MOE ? Just curious. How about the 2nd round papers marking?

Asked DS if he intends to prepare himself for next week 2nd round assessment. His answer is "用平常心吧!"

All the best to students taking the tests next week

    • RE: Travel: Taiwan - Taipei

      Hi

Can someone advise me how to book a DIY at Yilan SanXing Spring Onion farm? I cant seem to find the website that allow me to pre-book a time slot to experience the farming experience. I have 2 A and 2 C, how can I travel to the farm after my visit to the national ARTS museum? Any bus or taxi?

My day trip to Yilan. Is this advisable??
Taipei - MRT to Yilan station to see Jimmy square (15mins) - National Arts museum (1-2hrs) - SanXin Spring Onion farm (2hrs) - Loudong night market - take a bus back to Taipei.
