Hey JC parents, its been a while since my Ds did some 'touching' of books since Gapsem last yr. Lol.. Hope he doesnt lost too much interest in dat..lol.

Just to check what are the usual activities during the orientation fr Jc1? I heard abt some dance activities which kinda 'worried' fr me.. Lol.. Hope my boy doesnt get too distracted with the new friends..lol

Is there a need for a tutor in JC eg. GP, Physics..? Any good tutors to recommend? My boy is just an average student.

My spouse & i are not from this fast paced environment & we dont really hv a clue on how tough Jc life is. Hope some advise from thse experienced parents on wat to expect & perhaps to just keep a look out on my Ds.:)

      Many thanks...:)))

Wat are my chances if i apply to rgs with a score of 258+3?

Hi serafinang, sorry to say the +3 points are mainly for SAP schools I believe. Last couple of years, MOE allowed to appeal below the COP via the supplementary intake just like in RI but I believe now you must meet the COP to have any chance of a successful appeal. If I'm not wrong the appeal date ends on Fri 23rd Dec.
You may call up the sch to have better info..

hi parents, intending to put CGS as one of the choices for my DD2.. staying in the North too & it is pretty near to my DD1 sch, so basically is quite convenient to send & fetch them both.

May I know what time does the CCA ends normally & wats the interval btw the sch ends & the start of the CCA? just to gauge the time needed to have lunch & get prepared.. many thanks in advance..:)))

What's the T Score for express course? Got RI CO, but they said have to qualify for the express course. I remembered during open house, RI states there is a test after Year 2 to decide who will go O level, Is it correct?

Hi dasheng, congrats to ur Ds fr getting the CO fr Ri.. And also to all the students out there. Those who miss out are actually very smart too just dat the seats are limited. You guys did a terrific job too going all the way to the interviews.

Coming to ur qs, the T score for express i guess, will be somewhere ard 188-190. Just looking at the previous yr entry level fr express stream to the average schools.
Im assuming ur Ds got CO for sports domain? Cos in previous years, only the sports class (usually only 1 class) will have to meet the GPA of >2.8 to be eligible for the IP track cos their papers are slightly diff. Thse lesser than dat will hv to take the route to O level first, then to the RJC(RI) if their result met somewhere ard 15pts.
Perhaps they have chg tis recently, correct me if im wrong..:))) but not too worry, most of the sports guys are good enuf for the IP track.. Mayb, only mayb a handful of them.. Cya in RI!

For the sake of those DSAing in the future, is there anyone from Mainstream receiving at least a Waiting List offer into RI's academic DSA? How about the 11 of the Mainstreamers who went for the interviews?

My ds (MS)unsuccessful, not sure about the other ds from MS who went for interview.

Hi sim, sorry to hear abt ur result. Any way he has made better progress than my DS last few yrs who din even managed to pass thru the Gat test.
But hey theres always the Psle route & it isnt tat tough after all.. Lots of other students have made it!!! Just take it that you guys took another flight to the same destination.. My Ds end up seeing his old classmate again who managed to go in via Dsa earlier. What a pleasant surprise.. :)))

      Ying2,
Do take note that some schools will send you email to inform you to attend the tea ceremony to collect the Confirmed Offer letter. So please do not miss that email content and the tea ceremony when you \"close your eyes\" 😉

Oh! I have to read email and letter lah. But the tea ceremony is a headache problem. The school will call the name one by one to give out CO letter?

Hey Ying2, you are so cute la.. Yeh we definitely nid to open & read the outcome emails as in some schools you nid to attend the tea ceremony with ur Dc to collect them.. This CO is given by the secondary schools you applied for & they will mail it to us the letter. So no calling of names in their primary schools to collect them as no one frm the primary sch knws u applying for it unless u tell them.. Any way not all sch hv tea ceremony.. So u still will be able to hide it till the psle over at least. All the best for ur DC!
