my kids have just been transferred to Griffiths Pri this year... the new Principal was a VP of Rosyth and Tampines Pri.. i hope she brings some changes to increase the popularity and academic standing of the sch πŸ™‚

Hi, may i know what you mean by your \"kids just been transfered to Griffiths Pri\"... Is is you ask for transfer or the sch transfer them. Before that what school does your kids attend to. And may i know, does Griffith Pri has student care in their school?

My elder boy was in TKPS and we moved to Tampines last year Nov. so i requested for MOE to assist to transfer them to another sch in Tampines area. Griffiths was the only sch which had vacancy and accepted them. Initially i was rather upset with myself for putting up the transfer request. But I hope it's a blessing in disguise with the new Principal onboard.

During the first day of sch when she gave a speech about what to expect from the sch, her slides shows students with different uniforms! I googled then found out that she was ex-VP of Rosyth and Tampines Pri. I guess she probably brought along some activities from her prev schools?

Yes, Griffiths has student care in their schhol.

Hi all, I'll be shifting to Tampines St. 21 in Nov this year.. Currently i've a P1 boy and another soon-to-be p1 boy next year.

My elder son is currently in Tanjong Katong Pri sch. not a 'branded' sch, not too strong academically too but my son and I liked it. Not so stressful for both parents and child. And good for mental and physical development too (i guess πŸ˜› )

I'm new to the schools in Tampines.. In your opinion, which sch in Tampines is similar to Tanjong Katong pri? Not so academically stressed, all rounder development type?

      Thanks for all inputs! πŸ˜„

Btw I want to ask all you parents out there of my opinion:

I am Indian (not Tamil but 1 of the minorty Indian race and we don't speak Tamil) and my son will be entering P1 in 2014. We will be moving to Marine Drive next year.

I am confused if I should put my son in Tao Nan or Tanjong Katong Primary(he has been learning Chinese since Nursery and I want him to learn Chinese in P1).

Is Tao Nan too Chinese based emphasis..yes, I want him to learn Chinese but I heard that you need to learn higher Chinese, there is Chinese poetry, Chinese pop quizzes every week.. is that true?

Should he not do well in Chinese..i.e. his marks is low for Chinese...will that pull down his overall grade in other subjects?

In that case, should I just put him in Tanjong Katong where emphasis is all round development such as character development and academic?

Very confuseed ..any advice very helpful
First of all, I think that you should check out the chances of your son getting into Tao Nan. Which phrase are you eligable for and what are your success rate. πŸ˜‚

And i think your qn on Tao Nan's chinese is best posted in Tao Nan's thread instead of here.. πŸ™‚

good morning all! my ds1 is in 1A and his form tr is mrs winnie tan. i was told she is very on the ball and pretty strict! for p1, there's no exams but they are expected to write a 80-word compo. die! ds1 is very bad at writing.. anyone has any recommendation for creative writing class?

at the end of day 1, im more tired than ds1! haha..

btw, i was told by the bus driver that every wed pickup time is 1.20pm. shyb, u might want to call up the driver and ask again πŸ™‚

      Hi Enirac
Yes, has checked with the driver. He is from a private transport company. Must be a sub contract arrangement from Comfort Bus. He cant change the timing as he has other jobs.

So far so good. My DS enjoys his school. I have only received the 2 days timetable. Only need to bring the files, books, health book and report book.

      Hi shyb,

can share the contacts of your bus driver? ds1 is now taking comfort bus and so far for these 3 days, the timing varies.. hopefully it gets better by next week. or else, i would look ard for other drivers..

ds1 has also receive his tabletable for the rest of the year. πŸ˜„
