RE: All About Full-Time Maids
Hi, my helper would like to go back to the Philippines for home leave. I was wondering if anyone has done it before, like what approvals are needed before buying ticket. And if SHN at employers residence would have any major issue… If she does come back with covid, will it affect everyone else staying in the household? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I’m thinking of sending my 4.5 year old to Bishan branch. Any recommendations on teachers?

RE: St James Church Kindergarten
chien6:
Hi chien6, thanks for sharing your experience! My son will be in N2 next year and we decided to register him in the end, after attending the school tour and orientation talk. He's slightly better with toilet training now so hopefully by next year it should be ok.eureka29:
Hi, does anyone know whether St James has a policy on kids being toilet trained? My son has a spot for next year's nursery slot, so my concern is whether he needs to be toilet trained before then. Have been trying to toilet train him but to no avail.
Would appreciate any advice. thanks!
How old is your child now? Is he going to N1 or N2?
Mine is N2 this year and he has a classmate who was not toilet trained till few months ago... A bit embarrassing for the boy, to be wearing pampers still.. But I have personally witnessed the teachers feeling the pampers to see if needed to change and helped him to change. They were very sensitive to it.. So I don't see much issue with the School..
Having said that, perhaps I could share also that you should try to prepare your son cos he may feel insecure when he sees his friends going to toilet and he having to do it inside his pants.. Just a kind thought I hope you won't mind..
Hope everything goes well..
Just wondering if there are any SJCK parents staying in the Serangoon Gardens area? Just realized the school bus won't be able to fetch my son from home in the morning. 8.15am is pretty early for us!
Thanks! -

RE: All About Maid's passport renewal
Hi, if my Filipino helper’s passport is expiring in June next year and wants to go home for good, can she still work all the way till May/June? Does she really need 6 months validity to go back to Philippines?
Thanks -

Hi cheapsale, I see. I decided to take the offer as my son's current school will move next year and we are not sure where to yet and the chances of fee increase is quite high. Will see when the time comes!eureka29, I may not take up the vacancy since my girl is settled and happy where she is now. Hubby worry that if we take her out, and she don't like it...will be worst.
Also we told her about going to new school and she was insistent that there is only one sch. It dawn on us the bonding she has with the sch so....no choice! -

Headache! should i trsf my kid for 2014? My kid is settled now at her sch and now got vacancy at st james. Hubby did not like the idea of transfer cos we saw many of her friends transfer and did not like the new sch and ask for transfer back to realise it's also full.... Is St james really that worth it that no other school can match?
Same here! and we don't really have much time to decide?
Thanks chien6 for your reply! much appreciated
