For collective nouns, how do we determine if it should be singular or plural? Is it based on context of the sentence? I got a shock when my DS told me his teacher said read does it make sense??!!! :mad: :rant: :stompfeet:

Example : My family (is/are) going to Australia next week. In this case we use \"is\" but how to explain my family is treated as singular as its treated as one single group consisting of many

Example : The audience (was/were) cheering loudly for their team. In this case, the word \"their\" gives the clue that \"the audience\" should be treated as plural? Am i right to explain like this?

was informed that all SC residing within 1km (which was my case) has been successfully submitted under phase 2C. there is no sms or calls from school but they will send out the enrollment by next week.

From moe website u will know if your application requires balloting or not.. Mine cfm ballot but no call receive from Sch... Why some Sch call, some dont... When I kept hearing others receive call I get paranoid!

Yes by now you should have received the phone call from school to inform of the balloting.

When will Sch starts calling to inform ballot required? Although I already know the Sch I registered confirm will go ballot. Wonder will they inform how many ballot for the vacancies

In light of the withdrawals by successful Phase 1-2B registrants at this stage, will these new vacancies for the school be immediately added to the current Phase 2C? Or will it only be added in Phase 2CS?

Additional vacancies add to 2C only balance after 2C will be carried over to 2CS

Princess Elizabeth already oversubscribed for 2C and will go balloting. How much risk would u want to take if u fail in ballot you cannot go back South View also...

We are definitely not risk takers. Only heard St Anthony is oversubscribed by SC within 1km in phase 2c so far.

If you have the time tomorrow you can adopt the method that Chief suggest. But be aware the Princess Elizabeth might not be any much better in stressful level as she is after all another highly sought after Sch similar to St. Anthony
