RE: Henry Park Primary
This year onwards it’s electronic application, and MOE only update the first day application no. Total applicants will only be known probably a week later after phase period is closed.
Previous years u can camp outside the school and monitor the no. of applicants. -

It is quite risky for >1km in phase 2B, usually phase 2B applicants are within 1km. This year only left 20 slots, but 2019 there’s 26 applicants. School may not take u in for PV if >1km. Phase 2B first day application no. will not be accurate, ppl usually wait till 2nd day then choose the school to apply, so first day no. is always low. It’s a risk.
Newbie here. Anyone can advise what is chances to be accepted in phase 2B by parents volunteers at HPP ? I saw the history from 2015 to last year, there isnt oversubscribed in phase 2B. isn’t it mean all PV kids are accepted in 2B ?
I am staying just outside 2km from HPP and thinking to do PV at HPP if the chance to be accepted in Phase 2B is high. -

The one time balloting for within 1km was in 2013 but thats when 40 spots not were reserved for 2B and 2C. 2014 onwards, its usually quite close for filling in the spots nicely (all distance). For this year take up rate till 2A1 has increased 22 spots. and If the 2A2 fill in 24 more, HPPS will be left with 40 spots. Point to note is 26 people applied under 2B last year (19 Applied in 2018). All GRL route would adopt an \"avoid ballot\" route. For risk point i think its still fairly good chance those for within 1km under 2B will be safe.
Mostly no ballot.Davischew\" post_id=\"1985282\" time=\"1594439894\" user_id=\"132882:

I couldn't assume your year of registration. if its for this year or SG50 baby, the risk point should be above.
For NYPS and RGPS, staying within 1km under 2B, for NYPS balloting will be conducted at 1.5X to 1.8X of the available spots whilst RGPS will be sure in.
If you want all the 3 choices, and your application is not this year, you can watch the numbers for HPPS and say balloting 26 applied for 20 spots and balloting is conducted for >2km, then based on risk point and increasing option you can go for staying within 1km of NYPS and RGPS while staying within 1-2km of HPPS.
I also noted you may have other 2A1 or 2A2 choices, all i want to say is with more choices, come more headache
Weigh your pros and con and adopt a strategy that best suit your risk profile.[/quote]This year HPPS till 2A2 are all taken up, 2B will only left with 20 slots.
If based on last year 26 applicants, >2km is very risky. If you have option for other schools within 1km, will stand a higher chance. -

Thanks for the detail explanation.
Even before the current COVID-19 situation, it is not uncommon for the approval to be more than 3 months, let alone now.
Just to share my experiences in the estate on politics, mine is a new BTO whereby a new RC is planned to opened within 6 months and the new recruits are asked to be observers in a nearby RC while the plans to set up my new RC is formulated. The CM proceed to set up a RC groupchat where all the members from the new BTO and the older estate are all added in. Conflicts started when some of the new BTO members who had already been GRLs in their previous estates start to compare the way things are run in the older estate RC and their previous RCs. Things get out of hands when harsh words were exchanged in the groupchat whereby a lot of members were affected and MP was aware of the situation.
Then PA abruptly made the decision to separate the 2 groups after 2 months and 'set up' my new RC despite having not enough members to do so. The appointment letter were sent out only 3 months later but backdated to the month when the 2 groups split with reason stated that MP wants the previous mess to be sorted out before she approve the member roster. Heard that some of the so call 'troublemakers' were not asked to be part of the new RC, and until now, 5 years later, my estate still do not have a physical RC centre and no member roster were displayed around the estate.
My point is that it is never a given that grassroot is auto-renewal and messy RCs sometimes also need more time to sort out the member roster.
Hope they don't screw up my application, only left 10 days to deadline. -

Yup, have been an active GRL. Apprantly not now, technically I'm not a valid user in grassrootsconnect.
you \"active\" GRL?
My participation rate is not the top hitter, nor the bottom. I'll help out whenever I can, organized a few events, and hardly miss the monthly meetings. After 1st April lapse of membership, I still help out in the masks distribution.
