Now that we have been kicked out from 2A2 of Rosyth, what are the odds for XinMin primary under 1-2km priority?

I explained the ‘why’ but the MOE was still sharing the standard statements over and over again. Asked for higher officer to help, but was advised that this can only happen when we formally initiate the process.


Anyway, moving house due to taking care of elderly parents one who is fully bedridden hence need a bigger home. Based on experience, is this acceptable?

Riding on the home address topic, have there been any successful appeal to continue staying in the same school despite not being able to stay for 30 months?


Called the MOE hotline and all I am hearing is the repeated sentence MOE has the right to transfer the student out. This is so frustrating.

Such a pain indeed… praying for the best, be prepared for the worst… we are queuing for 2A2 Rosyth…. Last year was black swan even with unprecedented zero vacancy in this phase 🥲.

Going by how it went last year, the MOE page will probably update the figures at the end of the day with the total number of applicants but without distance breakdown.

Perhaps you can try calling the school to ask nicely if they are willing to share the information?

For “live” info, can only try calling the school.

Otherwise, after registration closes at 4.30pm today, u can keep refreshing this MOE page until it shows the total number of applicants for this phase:

MOE just updated the page. Not with the numbers though but with the statement \"We are in the process of verifying online applications. The next update will be by 6pm on Friday, 9 July 2021.\" So seems like no numbers till Friday afternoon at least? Agonizing wait to find out if there's balloting.[/quote]

Hi there,

We are currently renting a unit which is within 1 km to a rather popular school (unbeknown to us earlier) and ballotting history shown that < 1 km for every year is safe. This means as long as we are staying within 1 km, vacancy is almost guaranteed.

However, our new house will be TOPing soon, either end 2021 or latest mid 2022. This new house (our purchased unit) is about 2.5 km from this current school.

Is it an acceptable to apply for this school, then update MOE after we have moved out? We won’t be staying for 30 months minimum and wonder if this will be penalised by MOE? What is the worse thing that can happen with this option and what is the best advice for our situation?

You have basically 2 options:
1. As suggested by zac_mum, extend your lease to cover 30months and stay till the 30months is up.

2. Use the new address to apply, which also mean, you may have to consider or look at another school.
