So it can be just me.. Not a must for the child to be baptised right?
Your child doesn't need to be baptised. -

hi would like to know, if i the mum to my boy is baptist but my boy is not. can he still enjoy under phase 2B? or my boy must be also baptist?
Do you mean baptised? It's not enough to show your baptism certificate.
The important thing is that you or your husband must show membership in a church affiliated to the school. For example, if you want your child to be able to apply under phase 2B to one of the methodist schools, you or your husband must be a active member in one of the methodist churches in Singapore.
Before Phase 2B starts, you or your husband will then have to get an official letter endorsed by the pastor-in-charge of your church. You will need to show this letter on the day of registration. -
RE: PM Lee's National Day Rally on Sunday to be broadcast
ChiefKiasu:
Chief, PM Lee mentioned your website! There is too little details at the moment. No surprising..., after all, it's a national speech, not a speech on education.

The implications are interesting, but really, as PM says, the tweaks are very small.
Regarding the P1 registration, the \"40 guaranteed places for people NOT connected to the school\" is interesting, but the question is whether these are an additional resource (which means MOE will have to add 40x190=7,600 places to the P1 registration system), or simply put aside from the usual pool of vacancies. I don't think it is likely MOE will actually increase the vacancies.
From the way I understand based on his speech, there won't be any changes to the Phases at all, and it could be that if a school start with N places, then Phase 1, 2A and 2B will consume up to a maximum of N-40 places and Phase 2C will simply get any remaining places plus that 40 places. In effect, this would be the same as \"capping Phase 2A and 2B\". If the 40 places are not additional add-ons, then people in Phase 2A should prepare for balloting in the coming years.
Anyway, don't forget right now rule is phase 2b vacancies = 2c vacancies, so that means if no rules change, 40 places for 2b and 40 places for 2c, so I think something will change... -

Al least 40 vacancies will be left for 2C ... if I am not wrong from what I heard...true?
If I recall his words correctly, he never mentioned specifically phase 2C.
I think he's going to leave room for Minister Heng to decide how to reserve 40 places, looks like there could be a revamp for all the phases and priorities now....maybe 2A and 2B combined?
Because right now the rule is phase 2B vacancies = phase 2C vacancies
that means if they don't revamp the phases, that means 2B and 2C total is 80 places! -
