RE: Travel: Australia - Gold Coast
Hi JR,
We are gtg to GC too during year end hols. We will be staying at an apartment in broadbeach and will be arriving at Brisbane airport. Any idea do we have to book the airport transfer online or we could just do it upon arrival?
Also, the apartment has a tour desk that help arrange for theme parks & land tour. Is it cheaper to book via the tour desk or online booking? Understand from another member here that tourists do get some discounts from the visitors brochures at the tourist counter in airport.
Thanks -

RE: Does type of housing really matters?
3Boys:
hmm, let's put it this way, is the child agreeable/ happy with such arrangement? (boarding school) Well, the parents who make this decision for them may not know this might not be the best option afterall.fishatwork:
sad to say, there are some parents who hope that their children will be very independent enough to take care of themselves and don't have to bother the parents so much. They would rather work over-time, go out with friends for drinks and leave the child in the grandparents/ maid's care and probably think that their responsibility is just to provide material needs to the child, but not spending enough time with them.

Different strokes for different folks. The concept of parents spending a lot of quality time with their children is not a universal one. For instance, in some cultures, children may be sent off to boarding school at very young ages. They don't necessarily turn out too badly......
Parents who spend more time with their children will go a long way, the more you are involved in your child's life, the more you can readily offer guidance and support at the right time since you understand his weaknesses and strengths better.

RE: P1 - what do you give for early lunch ?
My DD is in P1 PM session, too. She wakes up ard 9am and i'll just give her a glass of milk. She starts eating her early lunch(most of the time porridge or pasta) at 10.30am as she's a slow eater. Her recess is at 3.00pm and she usually buy soupy thing from the canteen (noodle soup or beehoon soup).
When she comes back in the evening, she often says she's hungry and will finish a whole bowl of rice...sometimes she'll eat a few biscuits or egg tarts after dinner so her system works better in the evening...
