Any idea when & how to *book* school bus service?

      Hi,

Due to the school shifting to temporary site next year, according to school bus transport, Ming Yang, currently, they are unable to quote us the school bus fee. However, they asked to check with them in Mid November.

Hope the above do help you.

HIPS conducted a survey whereby Min Yang has a few pickup points from Hougang going to the holding school next year. If there are enough kids who signed up then this service will happen. I remember 1 of the pickup point is around Blk 322 hg ave 5 and the other one is Blk 8++ near hg central. Buss fee is around $95 I think.

Morning Star facilitators will bring the children from the Centre to School and vice versa. It’s opposite HIPS, just need to use 1 zebra crossing. Morning Star has students from XinMin Primary and Our Lady of Nativity, they use the Student Care school bus.

Morning Star is bidding to operate a student care in HIPS holding site although I don’t think there will be a lot of space for the student care on the site. Morning Star will still operate the current site at Lor Low Koon from 2017-2018.

      Hi Nic Rui,

Yes, AM session is definitely less tiring. My DD is easy, she’s very adaptable and independent, this term she has homework almost everyday! I figured these homeworks are usually what they cannot complete in class, they won’t have homework if they can complete their work in class.

DD is a potato kid and does not speak Mandarin. Surprisingly, HC is her best subject at times (well, they haven’t started on essay writing which is probably why)!! But I heard HC in P3 is a totally different thing and more difficult. HIPS and Maris Stella are SAP schools, they start HC from P1 and Teacher will recommend by P4 if they do HC or normal Chinese depending on how well they perform for the subject.

My husband was also an old boy from the all boys era!

      Nic rui,

You’ll need to write to the school to join the alumni, they’ll send you a form to complete. For MS, you’ll need to apply asap as it is very "hot". For P1, it is PM session so you pick your kids after school but the teachers will bring them to school.

For me, my husband was an ex-student and I have a DD & DS so I chose a co-ed school. I was also hoping a co-ed school reduces the chances of bullying but that’s just my personal opinion.

      Hi Sing Mummy,

Have you received any confirmation form from HIPS for Phase 1? My older girl hasn’t brought home any confirmation letter from school.

      Hi Suzkss,

PM session is really tough coz they finish school at 6.30pm. By the time reach home, it’s 7pm, eat and shower almost 8pm. I make sure my DD goes to bed by 9pm most times as she leaves home with me in the morning to go to the student care. Therefore, she has an hour to do homework at night. I don’t leave homework to the student care teachers. They still require some coaching at this age esp. show & tell.

I figured most times, homework is the remaining work that the child did not finish in school. So it helps if your child is a fast learner who can do the work fast. If the child is slower then there will be a lot of homework.
