    • RE: Pat's Schoolhouse

      Hi Zeezzen

Personally I would choose a centre that is convenient for you.
My girl had attended Pat’s Buckley and Claymore some years ago
while my sons are presently attending Pat’s Whitley and Baby Haven.
I am very pleased with these centres.

To "unkiasu Singaporean", thank you for speaking up for Pat Koh. I am also a parent of 3 children, one of whom has graduated and I have 2 presently studying at Pat’s Whitley and Pat’s Baby Haven. Till today, my daughter still has fond memories of her school and returns every year to visit her teachers!

I always believe that something beautiful always turns out from adversity. Throughout this ordeal, the school has kept parents informed via sms, email and heartfelt letters written by Pat Koh and the Principals. Behind the scenes, I am sure all of them are working even harder. Within a day or two, the inhouse cooks were activated and our kids were given homecooked nutritious meals. I saw teachers who were still weak, still making calls to parents to check on the children. I really felt for them. They continued to soldier on and put our kids before themselves. I truely respect each one of them.

To those of you, esp Happychildren, who are using this platform to throw allegations against Pat Koh and her team, please take up her challenge to write to her personally and share your grouses with her. Pat has a wonderful team of Principals, district managers, teachers and support staff with whom she has such an open and special relationship with.

Happychildren's post below is very damaging. So is there a way to verify her status?

I am a concerned parent and the information in this post is alarming. I will of course not jump to any conclusion and accuse the school by reading just one post without verification. I don't think the teachers at PSH will allow themselves or the kids to continue eating the food if there are plastic pieces, fish bones or strings found in the food.

I am a teacher from Pats. I would like to state my opinion here after knowing what has happened to the innocent kids in Pats and other centres. The teachers in Pats has been eating the food from the same caterer 8 months ago. Initially, the food served was presentable and edible, but after a few months time, we found that the standard has dropped. The worst case that happened was when we found things in the food such as plastic, fish bones, strings, etc. The fish was not cleaned properly before they cooked it and tasted awful. The teachers in Pats has reported this to the management, however nothing was done. There was no improvement in the food. We are utterly disappointed with the caterer and the school. We believe that as a teacher, we deserve better treatment and same goes to the children who paid so much to the school. I personally feel that if an organisation want to be recognised and be one of the top school, something must be done! Please consider for the teachers and children. Stricter measures should be implemented in selection of caterer or just stick to in-house cooked food. If an organisation want to save money on hiring chef instead, then they should be aware that such incident will happen. The children are suffering, MUM'S KITCHEN must be accountable for. They must be dealt severely.

To \"empressplace\" - you are wise to verify the post of \"happychildren\" before making a judgement. I am a parent with 2 children at Pat's Schoolhouse and another child who has since graduated in 2008. For your information, the services of Mum's Kitchen has been terminated last week and in-house cooking as resumed. In fact, the children are getting homecooked healthier nutritious meals by the in-house cooks. Training of these cooks on food hygiene and nutrition are in the pipeline. I am still a happy mom.

To \"happychildren\" - as a teacher at Pat's schoolhouse, I do not think it is professional of YOU to give your opinion on this forum. You are creating unnecessary alarm amongst potential parents sending their child to Pat's schoolhouse or existing parents. As a teacher, you should be better informed that the services of Mum's kitchen has been terminated. If the management hasn't acted upon your feedback, you should continue to PUSH for an answer.
