You don't need to motivate the boy to study hard because he is obviously studying hard. However, he probably isn't studying smart.

He should be encouraged to listen and explore new ways of solving the problem (i.e. the other methods other than his own).

Do you have any new ways to solve the problem ? I can't think of it

how to motivate teenage boy to study hard, how to change his mindset



He has this problem, he tend to use his own method on doing A & E maths, end up score very moderate mark only

He is Sec 3, NA…

does any of you has a teenage son, weak in academy study, yet goes gym for training, even the next day is exam

I just browse back this thread, saw your question.


He interested in playing basketball, badminton, gym, some swimming, play basketball game in smartphone


At home after finish his school work, he will normally play his smartphone, like broswing Youtube video, play basketball game through phone, occasionally browse TV program with family


We do spent some time with him though


However, noticed a problem with him

Last Saturday brought him for a tuition, when the female teacher spoke to him, he replied very softly, he seems very afraid, no confident at all

I am new in this forum.


My 15 year old son is on Sec 3 NA now, at Yuying Secondary School

I noticed he doesn’t score well in his English language, about 58 points


Recently i spotted what his problem is…Narrative writing test


In the comprehension question, he frequently

A) answer indirectly

B) answer not to the point

C) frequently try to search answers from the comprehension paragraphs



How can you help him ? Any enlightenment will be gladly appreciated
