For ACS HCI and SJI they usually want yr child to take an admission test to see if yr child suits their system. But other international schools don't do that. Every international school curriculum varies. SJI and Tanglin trust results are not too bad. XCL World Academy is another IPCP school besides SOTA.

There are plenty of options in SG. Most importantly for the child to enjoy learning in the school.

Yes, I noticed that some FSS international schools in Singapore have very good IB results too (Tanglin trust and UWC and a few more). With the less stressful environment, lower class sizes, global environment, these schools can be a great fit for some local students too. That said, are these options avail to Singaporean secondary students who have the means and want to opt out of the local education system? Does anybody know the chances of Singaporean students post PSLE applying and being offered admission in these schools? I dont think there are many but I'm not sure. I wonder if it is because of the limited spaces in FSS or MOE rejection or expensive price or perhaps the choice of \"local\" international schools option (sji intl...). thoughts?

Getting a place in a \"foreign\" international school can be difficult as they have quotas for Singaporeans (imposed by MOE). However, there are 3 \"local\" international schools - ACS Int, HCI Int, SJI Int. Those don't have quotas, as far as I know.

Students schooled overseas have joined local sec schools. It's not the easiest transition, but with prep and planning, it can be done. Both my kids rejoined Singapore schools at sec levels (aged 14 and 16). For MT, they may be able to get exemption, or take syllabus B.

Do returning overseas secondary students have to apply to MOE for approval in order to enroll into SJI international and etc...? Or can they apply straight to the SJI international?

It is amazing that both your kids were able to rejoin singapore secondary schools. What did they do to prepare for the transition? And were they able to pick their choice sec schools or were they allocated by MOE? Did the schools hold any admission tests for them?

What are the secondary schooling options available for Singaporean kids who return to Singapore after having lived and schooled (primary school) overseas for most of their lives? Especially when they have limited mother tongue language abilities.

Will they be granted permission to attend the foreign school systems (Canadian international schools, tanglin trust etc…)? Or will they have to attend the local secondary schools.

I understand the compulsory education act only requires Singaporean children to attend local sg primary schools. Does that mean they can attend foreign school systems for secondary education?

Hello all, my child (SC , 6 yo) has severe seafood allergies which results in anaphylaxis. We are hoping that he can attend an international school because of that. What are the chances of Moe allowing him an exemption based on medical needs?
