Hello. I am looking at enrolling my son in St Stephen's next year. We live in Tampines so I'd like to know how long the school bus journey is to and fro school. Any info would be much appreciated. Thank you! šŸ˜„ šŸ˜„

Hi everyone! I am looking at putting my son in St Gab next year. However, we live in Tampines. I would like to find out if there are any parents here who put up in the East and how long the bus journey is to and fro school. Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks! šŸ˜„ šŸ˜„

Hi everyone! Just used the OneMap School Query function and discovered a few schools within the 1 to 2km range of my home. I initially thought there were only 2 using the Google Maps. However, when I individually click on each school, it seems to exceed 2km! Are the calculations on OneMap accurate? The recommendations are extremely strange (e.g. We live in Tampines and Meridian Primary School in Pasir Ris \"falls\" within the 1 to 2km radius. That's an entire MRT station away!) So, my other question would be does this mean these schools are the ones I should consider registering my son in? šŸ˜„

I recall that schools may use this to measure distance. In any case, this is based on a as crow flies distance and not the actual travel distance. From my place, my kid's school is within 1km although actual walking would like 30-45min (driving though is about 5min).

I would suggest to use this as a measure to get a list of your target schools - and if you feel unsafe, please call up the schools of interest to verify the information is accurate. Nothing beats knowing on the day of registration that one's assumption was wrong.

Thanks for the pointers! Called up MOE to find out there indeed Meridian falls under the radius! Ironically, Chongzheng which is located in Tampines, isn't within radius. How bizzare!

    • RE: [Changi/Pasir Ris/Tampines/Simei] Preschools

      Hi fellow parents!

I’m looking for a good preschool in Tampines. My son is turning 3 next year and I plan to enroll him in a two to three hour programme. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

      Thanks!
