i try to answer
- May of P6, there are many projects they have to do. Social Studies take up some time. For example, they need to give their view on current affairs such as NIMBY (not in my backyard syndrome), massive MRT breakdown, family tree etc.
- you need to scrore 80% for total aggregate. My DD dream school is rgs
- HCL should be same as main stream. pl note all GEP pupils take the same exam paper set by MOE GEP branch.
- In GEP, it is difficult to complete all the assignments. Some questions are really hard. The maths and science paper require more thinking. The English language is at least one level up, if not 2. You can take reference for P4 GEP English comprehension against a P6 main stream english comprehension.

RE: GEP 2012 - Screening & Selection
to share some experience - my daughter is in p5 gep class, P6 next year. The course is every enriching. It stretches their thinking and test their maturity. class size is small, 20 to 25. P4 is ok, but they need to adapt as there is no more spoon feeding like main stream teaching. Parents need to help the child to adapt and encourage them not to give up. P5 is the real test, time management is important. PSLE is not focus. They only start preparing some time in May for PSLE. If all goes smoothly, most GEP student should be offered an IP school of their choice during DSA, as their selection is handled differently.
