RE: *** READ ME FIRST !!! - P1 Registration FAQ ***
Good morning dear KS parents. Hope you can help me with this question. A friend told me she recently attended her St Hildaโs primary alumni meeting and she was told after phase 1 allocation and setting aside 40 places for phases 2B & 2C, the balance for phase 2A1 and phase 2A2 will be split 50%/50% between them.
I told her that is incorrect because phase 2A1 will have full priority before phase 2A2. So if there are 100 places for phase 2A and exactly 100 apply in phase 2A1 (with no balloting needed), those in phase 2A2 have no more chance and will drop to phase 2B right away. Is my understanding correct?

Thanks zac's mum so much for your clarification too!
If the younger sibling is a foreigner, he/she will NOT get priority under Phase 1. Foreigner children all have to go under Phase 3.funat:
Hi zac's mum, thank you. Another qn hope you can advise me.
I was told that if a foreigner is already a student in a primary school, the younger sibling will automatically be in phase 1 and will have priority over any Singaporean.
What this means is that if there are 30 foreigner students already in a primary school, and assuming all 30 of them have younger siblings enrolling in 2019 (for example), straight away 30 places will be taken away from Singaporean students.
Is this true?
BUT...(and this is the highly sensitive and contentious issue here, at least to us SCs)...any siblings who are PR status WILL get straight in at Phase 1, essentially leapfrogging over all the SCs at later phases. Taking away places from SCs.
I have noted that a PR student is given a place under phase 1 as long as an older sibling is already in the school. -

phase 1 all the way to Phase 2C Supp : is only for SC and PR. Foreigners not allowed to enter Phase 1, only allowee to enter Phase 3
in your qn above :-
you are asking : can a foreigner with a younger sibling allowed to enrol into same school, under phase 1 ? Answer is No, because foreigners not eligible for Phase 1. The younger sibling, in thid case, must still go through phase 3
As such, it is possible to end up with cases like these :-
older sibling (foreigner status) studying in our local primary school, but the younger sibling (also foreigner status) failed to enter into any local school, via Phase 3, handled by MOE.

Yes. So donโt PV blindly to any school. Pick one which historically doesnโt need balloting for your distance.funat:
Can someone kindly advise me on this scenario? If in the event of oversubscription and balloting is unsuccessful under phase 2B, I believe one will have to register in the next phase 2C.
Does that mean the parent who has done PV under phase 2B would have wasted the time and effort as there is no priority for her under phase 2C?

RE: All About Active Community Leaders
Dear everyone, I am new here. I am sorry if this has been asked before, so pls kindly bear with me.

My son will be starting P1 in 2020, so I am considering doing grassroots work to increase chance of getting my son into our desired school.
When should I start getting involved in grassroots activities if my son is starting in 2020? I know some may say asap, but just want to know whenโs the latest latest date. Thanks!
