      BigDevil:
If there was absolutely no balloting (regardless of distance), then no, you are not required to be at that address for 30 month.

If, however, there was balloting for > 2km (even though you are 1 - 2km), you were deemed to have gained an advantage over those staying beyond 2km, so you must fulfill the 30 month minimum stay requirement.
Really big thanks for your reply and i called MOE this morning to confirm this understanding as well. Such a relief now. I really couldn't sleep last night because i just booked a SOB flat from HDB but my friend told me i couldn't move because of the rule. i checked MOE website, it only stated \" a child who gains priority admission into a school through his/her distance category is required to reside at the address used for registration for at least 30 months from the commencement of the P1 registration exercise on 30 June 2016\". It didn't explain clearly the meaning of \"priority admission\" and gave me confusion. Thanks once again!

    • RE: All About Home Addresses

      Hi everyone,

i need an urgent answer regarding home distance. If my son was registered successfully under 2C 1-2km category and there is no ballot required during that 2C phase, do i still have to stay 30mth in that address? Thanks in advance

    • RE: 2016 P1 Registration Exercise for 2017 In-Take

just want to share some experiences with the online registration system. initially i planned to do registration at school on day 3, but end of day 2 i called up the school and confirmed that the chance of getting in was quite high, so i last minute chose to do online registration. i login at 4.20pm, at 4.25pm i only managed to complete all the info but still need to wait for my husband to login via singpass. Then i received a phone call, it was from the school which i wanted to register. The school said MOE called them and informed them there was still a parent doing registration online, so school asked if i had any problems because the system would be close in 5 mins time and MOE couldn't close while someone were still using . i told them i was in the last step already and finished the registration just before 4.30pm. I have to say i am very impressed about how MOE monitor the system. i haven't submitted my registration (i think i used save button though) but they managed to or bothered to ask school to call parents! 😓 😄

all SC within 2km are in this year under 2C, no ballot required. Such a relief for me. now need to worry about the student care… understand it’s not first come first serve basis anymore. School will review base on a few criteria and determine.

Just called up SAJS, no ballot required, all in. :rahrah: Probably some parents withdraw last minutes.
