Exit A from Newton station. At bus stop B40181, take SMRT 171 or SMRT 700. Alight 2 bus stops later at Balmoral Plaza (Bus stop no B40051). Walk along the road to the first traffic light. Make a right and cross the road (Bukit Timah Road). Continue walking then cross another road (Dunearn Road). Then make a left and cross Chancery Lane. The school is in front of you.
If you wish to use the overhead bridge you will have to alight at the same bus stop (Bus stop no B40051) then walk to the first traffic light but instead of making a right and cross Bukit Timah Road you will have to walk straight and cross Balmoral Road instead. The overhead bridge is further down the Bukit Timah Road and there is no bus stop there. Although the overhead bridge does provide direct and sheltered access to the school, the gate is usually locked and opens only at specific hours.
Most will use the traffic lights rather than the overhead bridge if they are coming from Newton station.

RE: Help Needed on my Pri 1 daughter
perhaps u can make an appt to meet with your daughter’s teachers, senior teachers, level head, principal etc and seek their professional advice on what is the best course of action to take… i am sure some if not all of them would have encountered situations like yr daughter’s case before. the last thing you want to do at this point is to panic and make your daughter feel even worse than she already is…
i think for a start you will have to work closely with your daughter’s school … at this point in time i think u would not want to stress yr daughter by signing her up for even more classes, tuiton sessions etc otherwise she will just have more and more negative feelings about primary school and when that happens it may be a challenge just to get her to attend school daily
i am sure yr daughter’s school and its staff are the people who are in the best position to help you since they are experienced and must have experienced many similar cases before

RE: All About Preparing For Primary One
i thot doing so may set a bad example for the child... if exception can be made for CNY... the child may feel that s/he can skip school in future ... esp when it is for leisure which i doubt the school will encourage but may not be able to stop if parents were to insist to do so...
for preschool i know esp for those who have relatives / families in neighboring countries to do so... but now that child is in formal school i think line must be drawn dun u think so?

Yes, you are considered an alumni of both schools. So you can register at either at Phase 2A.

RE: 2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take
Got a question for the gurus who are familiar with this… if someone goes to school A and then transfer to school B, is s/he consider alumus of school A, school B or both? does it matter which school he graduated from? MOE website says if report book lost PSLE cert can also be used for Phase 2A2 … so what matters most is where s/he graduate from?

RE: 2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take
gerald i think you are ok… but best to check with school. i think they will be flexible if it is genuine case
Under the FAQ from MOE website
33.I have purchased a yet-to-be completed property and should be moving in after the property is completed. Can I make use of the new home address for the purpose of registration?
Yes. The new home address can be used provided that you are able to produce evidence from the relevant authority that you have committed to the purchase of this property. In the case of private property, you must produce the original copy of the Sales and Purchase Agreement. The date of commitment by the developer in the Temporary Occupation Permit (T.O.P) must not be later than 31 Dec 2013. In the case of HDB flat, the Agreement for Lease is required. Parents must move into the new property within two years of the child’s entry into Primary One otherwise the child will be transferred out of the school.
dun think has requirement of 6 mths. -
RE: 2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take
gerald,
Taken from MOE website... no mention of 6 months.
Address Used for Registration
The address to be used for the registration of children in the Primary One registration is the official residential address on the parents’ NRIC. This address will be used to determine the home-school distance category. Parents may obtain a list of schools within the 1km and 1-2km distance categories from the OneMap SchoolQuery Service managed by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA).

RE: 2011 P1 Registration Exercise for 2012 In-Take
mummyo, perhaps this is the reason why despite the long distance parents are still not willing to give up registering their kid at these popular schools bcos they dun want their children to lament about them not putting them in the popular schools like wat u r doing now
