I noticed a lot of child care center like to tag a child that no so cooperate with the teacher as Autism. So that can kick them off.

Know of two boys who attended enrichment classes since young (kindergarten) and GEP preparation classes in P3 and both got in. Parents very on too.[/quote]

Tuition centre brand themselve as GEP prep class and earn big return from the claases. And some of these kids that got selected attended the class. However, there are kids that never attended this classes also got selected. At the end of the days， it is all about the kid, not about preparation.

Also alot of kids attended the classes and not selected.

It is not about advantages, it is about suitability.

imagine the situation where the school teacher teaches something you not know before, but can quickly understand, while the rest in the class is still :scratchhead:

then the teacher still needs to spend more time explaining while you are probably already bored to tears.

a more accelerated and more enriching programme will probably need to be catered for kids like that.

I think just need to wait for result and then consider it if been invited to attend the briefing.

What you heard isn't true, top scorers in the past came from both MS & GEP in different years, but then being in the program doesn't mean they will be scoring top scores in PSLE, and neither does the top PSLE scorer equate to being 'gifted'.

The program is mostly suited for those who learn at a different pace, and or have a different learning ability. And the program isn't geared for PSLE, but it is common acknowledgement that most of these children should do fairly well in PSLE. But again the emphasis isn't on PSLE Though they still have to go through PSLE, since it's a requirement, so bo bian :roll:
