the final registrations were:
within 1km: 76
1 - 2 km: 28

So 28 parents will be balloting for 21 seats next Friday at 10am

Not sure of the reason, perhaps is the flexibility of allowing parents who had applied/bought new/resale flats at that area to register their kids at the schools at the new address? and for PRs, some do not really own a flat.. some PRs are just renting a place to stay and sometimes does not hold up to 2 years.

You see,the point is to minimize such things from happening. There is no phase 2 and 3, then the seats should be enough. If not enough, then go by balloting. The point is to minimize the sch being more than 50% occupied even before it reaches phase 2b.


3boys proposal is quite good.

I think a case should be made clear between genuine and non-genuine applicants who are within proximity to the school. There are many who rent a place, use a relative's address etc to ensure a better chance of entry.

This group should be separated from the genuine cases who have stayed in the neighbourhood for a period of time.

Perhaps to qualify under within 1km (and 1-2km) of the school, the applicant's parents must show proof that 1) they have stayed at the address for the past x years and 2) they own the said property.

There is such ruling (as highlighted in your quote) a few years ago.. The ruling had since been removed.. If i am not wrong, the applicant's parents must hold the address at least for 2 years before they are qualified to register at the school..

Results for today’s no of applications is out on moe website…

Just called HPS, currently no of applications is 107. Might increase as there is about 30 to 45 mins left to closing of today’s application
