I missed the parent teacher get together session for Primary One students that was held over the weekend just before CNY. Can anyone share what happened during the session (in particular for Pri 1B) and if I should contact the form teachers to arrange a separate session?

oh yes sorry, there was also this mailer on a chinese book that was recommended, it shows the chinese words in picture form? (I think) Is it necc or good to buy that? My mandarin is terrible and without the hypy I don’t think I can read that book to my son.


Also, what is the purpose of subscribing to that online chinese magazine that is compulsory for the students?

I have a son in P1 this year and am new to TNS, I was wondering:

1. How do you usually get in touch with the teachers and do they regularly give feedback? Realised there is a lot of variation in how the teachers administer things. Some classes have form teachers who sms the parents on the first day of school to give feedback! Whereas I have not heard anything from either the english or chinese form teachers so far.

2. Do the kids usually need to write / note things down in the school diary? My son's is totally blank... He seems extremely blur

3. Regarding the list of enrichment classes that the school just sent out to students, there are things like wushu there... But isn't that one of the CCAs too? Does this mean that P1 kids cannot or are not required to take any CCAs and have to opt for paid classes like the ones on the enrichment form? Sorry, am confused by the list and I cannot find any standard info on CCAs for lower primary.

4. Some classes received a class list with names of students & parents and contact details. We didn't. Is that standard?

Thanks. I haven't found the school to be very accessible so far so am still struggling with how to figure out whats going on in the school / class. Do the kids have fixed seating in class? Do they have lockers?
