Triangle swv is an isosceles triangle,
Thus if MW is drawn perpendicular to the base SV of the triangle,
M will be the midpoint of SV.

Therefore triangle SWT and VWU have the same height.
Since the base are the same too, area of triangle VWU = 30 cm^2

      Area of triangle XWU = 30/5 x 3 = 18 cm^2.
      Area if triangle TWU = 30 +30 -45 = 15cm^2.
      Therefore shaded area = 15 +18 = 33
Sorry for asking a blur question but why is area of triangle TWU =30+30 -45? Thanks in advance.

For (a), is the answer 100 or 160? Can somebody confirm it for me. Thx.
Distance travelled by van to meeting point is 410/2 -30 = 175 km
Distance travelled by van in 1 and half hour 50 x 1.5 = 75 km
Distance more to travel from 1 and half hour point to meeting point is 175 - 75 = 100km
