autolycus:There will be a lot of pupils having the same t-score, then what sequence the system will take for those?I'm posting the following material under fair use considerations, from p.6 of the MOE Sec 1 Posting guide:In addition, from the MOE website:7.1 The posting of pupils to secondary schools is based on merit according to three criteria: pupils’ PSLE results, their choices of schools and the vacancies available in the schools. A pupil who has performed better in the PSLE will have priority over another pupil who has not performed as well. The first pupil will be admitted first, subject to the availability of vacancies in the selected school. The second pupil will then be considered. If there is no more vacancy, the second pupil will be considered for his next choice school, again subject to the vacancies available in that school.7.2 Pupils who fail to get a place in any of their choice of schools will be posted to a school near their home which still has vacancies. However, they must have met the school’s lowest PSLE aggregate. As such, parents are advised to update any changes in official residential address by the stipulated deadline (see paragraph 10.1 for important dates).7.3 Pupils who indicate their affiliated secondary school as their first choice will enjoy priority for admission to that school, subject to the availability of places in that school and the pupils meeting all other admission criteria such as academic course requirements.1. Secondary schools with Integrated Programmes have full discretion in student admissions.2. Autonomous Schools and Independent Schools can set aside 10% and 20% of their school vacancies respectively for discretionary admission.3. Schools with approved niches of excellence can set aside 5% of their school vacancies for discretionary admission.4. Students are selected during the Direct School Admission Exercise using school-based criteria, before the central posting exercise.

25hourmaid:
Sorry 25hourmaid, I have a question about the appeal, what is the procedure to conduct it? Like say, we must put that school on 1st choice, and we need to inform the school in advance before the posting day...? I can't find any detailed information for it... And the understanding to it which we are talking about here is actually quite different from the statement on the booklet, which is more on the cause of disability so have to appeal.ksfaith:
THanks, for your advise. but appeal must base on something right? my son nothing to offer to them leh? hee
Haha, that is very practical of you. If your son has nothing to offer to them for appeal, then make sure you are happy with second choice, that's what I would advise. Good luck. :celebrate: -

Thank you kindly for the input. It is much appreciated. May I know what do you mean by value added?Proudparentof2:

There is no harm putting Chung Cheng as 1st choice but realistically,
the chance of getting posted to Chung Cheng is low, considering that their COP was even higher in the past years.
I would say your next choices Gan Eng Seng and Mayflower are good choices as both these are value-added schools (whereas Chung Cheng is not!). With your daughter's COP, her chances are very high indeed.
Please refer to the blue book for Sec Sch selection, pg G3 to G5. Look at the 3rd column from the right. The more the number of stars, the higher the academic value-add rating.
Both GES Sec and Mayflower have one star each (CCH Yishun has none).
It refers to how a school can turn the child to improve academically by measuring from the PSLE aggregate score at entry level to the child's final performance by the 'O' or 'N' level score.
For example, a score of band 5 by Gan Eng Seng Sec means that on average, a student can score aggregate 14 pts for the 6 subjects (L1B5)at 'O'level. This is good achievement when you compare with another school example, Sch X (not value-add sch), took in higher PSLE scores than GES at Sec 1 but achievement 4 years later at 'O' level is above band 5.
In effect, an academically value-add school literally adds value to enable your child to perform better than expected academically.[/quote]
I am a little bit confused. I saw the historical COP of each school are actually very close, means if my aggregate is far from the COP of one school, I will get very less chance to be lucky. If this is true, the 1st option of Chung Cheng (Yishun) is most likely wasting a chance, am I right? -

Thanks for kindly respond.

This table used to be the top 50 schools based on each year's GCE O-level results. Schools excluded are probably those that do not meet the min L1B5<=18 criteria or schools which have less than x number of students doing O-levels are also excluded.georgechen99:
Can anybody clarify with me Why the table G-1 on the booklet does not include all sch? There are only 66 schools on that list, but there are totally 160+ schools, I understand there are some IP schools should be excluded, but still meet that gap. Thanks.
I need to know the Band level for the target school. -
