Read from John Gottman's research (http://www.gothman.comšŸ˜ž

      1. Know each other's likes and dislikes
      2. Continue to nurture your friendship
      3. Accept each other's influence in your life
      4. Maintain a 5:1 positive interaction v.s. negative ones
      5. Solve the solvable problems in your marriage
      6. Uncover each other's hidden dreams and honor them
      7. Create things like family rituals to establish shared meaning
This is a really good reminder. We all have our hidden dreams and being able to fulfill them for each other will surely bring about a closer and more appreciated relationship. Thank you for this!

I am looking for an enrichment centre for my P2 son . Aim is to develop his interest to learn Chinese, in addition to my home guidance, revising school work and practices. At locations like Telok Blangah or Bukit Timah. Are the usual enrichment centres like Berries is suitable for P2? I get the impression it is best for Pre-school level but less so once they start school. What about Chengzhu? I also read about Chinese Bridge and Yang Language School (anyone has feedback about them?). Greatly appreciate any sharing of experience with these schools. Thank you![/quote]
Hi, my son has been with Berries since N2 and now is P4. He has quite a few friends in Berries and I had many recommendations from friends to stay on and continue their primary levels. I would say, so far, I am happy with the progress. I find their primary level curriculum very structured and my son gets well-prepared for school work and exam with the exposure and practices for the different types of exam questions for paper 1, 2 and 3. I like the part that Berries has programs for normal chinese, higher chinese and this high potential class for those who has high proficiency in the language as I personally feels that it is important to cater to different student's proficiency to bring out the best in them. If you are looking at developing interest, they have reading materials and out-of-textbooks stuff included in their curriculum after exam period. My son does not really fancy reading chinese books but is willing to pick up the books from Berries at home. I think they still have trial class so you might want to do that to try it out first. Haven't had any experience with the other schools though, so won't be able to share on that.

My daughter attended math classes at TTL. I have seen a significant improvement in her skill level as well as in her confidence in math. I appreciate the very thoughtful curriculum that supports what she is learning in school and she enjoy the support and engaging style of teaching. She said it was challenging and she gives it 5 stars!! The joy and passion that bring to the classroom is wonderful and my daughter looks forward to class each week!

Hi Janet32, may I know which centre is she enrolled in? I'm looking at Seletar Mall, but heard some people say the better teachers are at other locations.

Hi Janet32, can share which centre your daughter is enrolled in? Thanks!

    • RE: Art class

My 5yo is unable to focus well but likes colors and drawings. I am wondering if going for art classes would help to improve his concentration and focus since he likes drawings. Does anyone has any recommendations for good art classes? My priority is not really on the techniques though, but more of the learning process. Thanks!
